again boyz, you guys are so worried about "how it feels to your butt/ass" ...

the BUTT DYNO ain't always the best tool to use.

You need some type of scanner to read the A/F so you can see exactly what full VTA does in between shifts, etc...

i gaurentee when you see what is actually does and how it fouls ur plugs and you can actually lose performance, you will change ur ways.

until then, rice it up. VTA or the sound of the BOV is nothin except Rice (kissass)

Thank you Mr. Goodwrench for your very specific and obviously intelligent information.

I guess my BUTT DYNO must be broke. I bet I've been riding around for the last 3.5k miles back firing and sputtering and stalling! I should change my ricer ways today! Just because you say I am loosing preformance. When you dont drive my car or have my set up or live where I live.

Instead of trying to make me look like a ricer by interjecting your unwanted opinion you could do the helpful thing and offer specific information. For example, a scanner that would read my A/F ratios and wont cost my left kidney to purchase.

Untill then a great home for your opinion would be on an opinion thread or maybe even a poll? Because I didnt notice where the subject of the thread asked YOU for your opinion.

While I am at it... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD stop typing "UR"!

moron.

But, CaSHMeRe is right. The truth sometimes hurts. Subjective personal experiences, whether you call them "Butt Dyno" or something else, are just that subjective. Objective evidence is all over this board. The DashHawks aren't lying. I'm not calling anyone a ricer.

I am saying there is no objective evidence to support gains by VTA if the stock BPV is not leaking. And if it is, the proper fix is a good BPV or a BOV running recirc. only.

Why does the VTA sound attractive to some people? What does it mean to say that one likes the sound of VTA? Those are not questions for me or anyone else to answer, but it is legitimate to wonder why one would want to go VTA when recirc can be objectively demonstrated to be a better way to go.

run mine in recirc with a Greddy RS, nice woosh!

ran mine in VTA for about 3 days. the whole time it smelt like a gas station and ran like a lawnmower, i had enough n swapped it back to recirc.

I don't understand??? Why is VTA bad??? Can someone explain this? Every other turbo car comes stock like ours did...then everybody always switches to VTA and no problems. So why is everyone against it on our car?

All the DSM guys that run VTA with no problems have done one of 3 things...

  1. Abandon the MAF sensor and switched to a speed-density system
  2. Switched from the factory MAF to a GM Maf with a translator, and moved the maf from before the turbo to after the BOV in the IC pipe.
  3. Run VTA with the factory MAF and be totally ignorant of the fact that it's screwing with the way the car runs.

I run VTA on my DSM, but I have a GM Maf in the upper IC pipe between the BOV and the throttle body. It runs good. (evil)
