Where were you on 9/11/2001?

I stayed home from work that day to babysit our two young daughters. As we watched the news coverage we saw the first tower fall and I stood there saying "Oh no, no!!" My oldest daughter who was 3 years old at the time kept asking me what was wrong - she was obviously distraught seeing her dad upset. Fast forward 5 years to tonight, we were at the dinner table. My oldest daughter was praying for the food and also prayed that "there would be no terrorists on our flight on Thursday". We are flying to Idaho on Thursday. I wondered back in 2001 if she would remember that day for the rest of her life even though it happened at such a young age. I know I'll never forget it.

I was asleep and my friend called telling me to turn on the TV. I watched the 2nd plane hit. I just sat in front of the TV with my mouth open.

i was on top of my 34 floor building i run repairing a stairwell lock when i got a call from the office and told me about the first plane.iwent to the office and watched what was going on and the second plane hit.that changed my day at work i run the third largest office tower in down town new orleans, the next closest building to mine is the world trade center of new orleans.

i remember getting pulled over 3 or 4 times within a 5 week period after it happened and getting my car searched every time. that was fun. high five for being brown and handsome

I was in my senior science class, we had turned on the tv to watch the school news, when the teacher hit the wrong button and turned it on the 11 news, we all sat and watched as the second plane hit on tv. Its weird how i remember exactly what i was wearing and who i was siting with....

i was in a senior class too in Physics , somebody turn the tv on and then the news and the tower 1 was falling down and i was like(omg) ,the whole day in school was watching the tv and listenig radio stations !!!

I eating breakfast and turned on the TV and I saw the tower smoking.I went to school and there was a meeting room next to the cafeteria, and a projector screen was set up showing the news and from the minute I got to school(7:30) to the time I had to go to class(10:15),I was glued to that screen, along w/ other students.

i was a sophomore in high school...i remember waking up and hearing about it on the radio, thinking that it was a cessna or something small hitting one of the towers...when i got to school i walked into a room with the tv on and they were saying that it was a 767 that hit the towers and that the other tower just got hit as well as the pentagon...after that, i just remember one of the teachers telling us "today is a turning point in history"

first day of school for me... didnt even know what happened until i got to school and heard everyone.

was walking into my science class when I was in 8th grade. My teacher had the radio on for the first 5minuites of class or so before he turned it off (the ass-hat..) Though I can remember everything about those first 5 minuites of class, what I was wearing, exactly what I said, what my teacher was wearing, how crappy the classrooms were in those trailers (schools around where I had lived were waaay over-populated and half the classes were outside in trailers) It was about 11:30-12:00 a.m. so both towers had already collapsed.

i just moved to LA at the end of august. i had no job (and didn't find one for a few months) and my roommate came busting in my room at 7-ish in the morning. "we're under attack! they flew a plane into the wtc!" i shot up and watched tv the rest of the day.

that night i drove to san diego (parents anniversary is on the 12th). i've never seen the LA freeway so empty. the LA to SD drive usually takes 2.5-3 hours... i got to my parents house in an hour and a half.

I had OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) Training @ One Wall Street for BNY...shocked to see what I grew up around... just disappear

It was ironic, that morning we had scheduled the The effects of Money Laundering

a) being: illegal activities such as Terrorism

*I still remember like it was yesterday....and it Fking sucks*

skipping class my senior year of high school. i was asleep and my friend calls to tell me a plane had just hit the WTC. i laughed hung up the phone and went back to sleep. i little while later, another call... "turn on the tv..another plane just hit the WTC" still thought he was joking, but turned on the tv and was shocked...

Wow, I just figured it was one of those moments where you know the course of events you're watching will go down in history.

It stays with you and you remember details about that day...
