Where to purchace a 2.3 l engine?

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the correct direction in where to purchase a 2.3 l engine for a 2004 mazda 6. It is actually for a friend who fell victim to the engine seize due to low oil. I have already checked ebay, craigslist, and local junk yards to no avail. So if anyone knows where one is i would greatly appreciate it.
