Where to place component crossovers?

Okay thanks everyone for the replies. I haven't had time to install my components yet. Maybe this week I will be able to. I think I know where those foam spots are. I'll just see when I open up the door panel and explore the options. Did anyone use velcro inside their door panels?

Instead of creating a new thread, I'll just add some comments to this one.

I just bought a pair of these speakers and have a few questions (surprised?) about mounting them.

The two options I came up with are on the inside door panel at the back (near the rear of the door) or on the exterior door skin, behind the speaker location. I've checked the window clearance and it will fit no problem. Mounting the the crossover to the door skin makes it easier to take the door panels off in the future.

The two questions are:

1) Will the crossovers be subjected to water damage in the doors?
2) Which of the two methods do you suggest.

Keep in mind I don't really have the time to pull wire.

Thanks again.

Tortoise, the crossovers will be subjected to moisture and water if they are mounted to the back side of the door skin. The best place for large crossovers, as you have found is the backside of the door panel on the opposite side as the speaker opening. I know it is a PITA to add and remove the door panel, but it will be more of a pain if the crossovers get wet.

Here is how I mounted them:

Tell me about it. I've been wanting to do custom door panels for the longest time but I just can't give up those map pockets. I put my CD holder binders there.
