where to mount xm radio

yea i WAS...but like you said...its a killer, plus im just going to keep it and slap a turbo on it and kill some people around here.

I bought a "universal" mount kit from best buy. They make the xm one in black and ipod one in white and since the black best matched the interior I used it. At first I had it to the right side of the radio (coming out right next to the radio body.) and it was angled toward the driver. I liked it but it kinda intruded into the passenger "space". Now I have it coming out of the top of the radio. It kinda blocks the hazard light switch and a little of the vent. I'll try to get a pic if you want.

The plate/mount actually sits on the top of the radio and slides back in along the top of the radio. I ran my antenna and power through there as well. I had to bend the mount a little bit to get the right angle. I also put some thin rubber-ish tape on it to keep any rattles down since it's not really screwed or bolted to anything. Easiest way to put it in was to pull the stock stereo part way out and slide it all back in togehter. Using the same mount I had it over to the right and it slid along the side of the radio. There's nothing to screw into on the side without being really creative and it would sometimes slide down a little. It was nice on the side cause it was angled to the driver but in the middle it's kinda out of the way and the passenger and see/use it too.

This is where mine is currently mounted, but we're moving it (somehow) to right in front of the cig lighter....I'll lose a cup holder, but I can't really use them anyway. We used a cell phone mount from Verizon.
