I had a friend who was selling his (but it had black leather on the top) for $50. Let me know if you are interested and I can ask him. I dunno if he's sold it yet or what, but last week he got a new car and was going to sell his knob. (It's only a week or so old - he had just put it in his GTI then sold it to get an A4.)

the only weird part is the top of the shift boot looks kinda funny to me. I tried my friend's on my car since the perforated leather and aluminum go perfectly with the interior, but the shift boot was all funny lookin'...

yeah i seen that. i wasn't sure if i get sick of the knob being completely blue and all.

Pr5owner has a replica of the silver/blue knob, but he never posted back to my reply.

Mattew: the knob looks good. is the factor boot too bulky or you just want a new boot altogether?

the boot would prolly be ok BUT i ruined it trying to push it down further...see i shortened my shifter an ADDITIONAL inch with a hacksaw - so the boot has a little plastic ring which broke when i tried to shove it down on the fatter part of the shifter.
