where to buy a replacement motor

im also in need of a new engine if ne 1 has a car 2 part out our knows a good place 2 find 1 and also are the fs motors n probes,mx6,and 626 the same as the 1s n the mp3s if ne 1 around ky has 1 i would be glad to pick it up

is it possable 2 put a 1.8l fs engine into a mp3 if how easy and wat is needed for it to be done

Wouldnt even bother with it.. in all honesty. Prolly need the wiring harness, ecu, actual engine, maybe tranny... and the list could go on. But just stick with the 2.0. Trust me.. your be much better off. I have one.. that I bought from Ken over @ PG a while back and never got to install it. Letting it go for real cheap (sorry ken.. dont mean to undercut you.. I just want this thing out of here!!!!!). Asking 650.00 shipped + paypal. Let me know if anyones interested... I can post pics... although its in bumble wrap right now.

first off, a 1.8 is not an FS motor. the 1.8 is referred to as an FP. block is different, crank is different, rods are different and pistons are different. only shared component is the head. i don't see why you'd want to run the 1.8. slightly higher redline maybe? the engine will physically drop in and bolt in to an mp3 without any modification. 2.0 flywheel and clutch will bolt right up as will the manual transmission. i wouldn't want to run it on the mp3 ecu because of the dish on the 1.8 piston, would make it higher compression which on that ECU would probably detonate.

i've been told that there are a couple different engines that will go the mp3 with just minor mods. ive got to get this car back on the road asap cuz of issues with my other cars.

1.8 FP, 2.0 FSDE, 2.0 FSZE will all drop in. you need to be careful how old of an FS you buy because car won't run without the provision for a cam sensor and with the distributor on older engines. your best bet is a 98 and up FS engine from a Protege or 626. running the 1.8 or the FSZE on the mp3 ecu really isn't advisable if you ask me. 2.0s are so plentiful that there isn't hardly any reason not to just replace it with one.

no problem. we know these cars inside and out so feel free to fire questions our way!

ill have a engine that can be rebuilt if ne needs it. i dont know exactly wats wrong wit it but was told by the dealership i bought it from it is a broken wrist pin. i dont know all i can say is it knocks after 3k rpm could be a couple things. i was going to rebuild but now ive decided too get a new engine. ne intrested pm me also do have a piston set 4 it
