Ever since I had that whole problem with the VICS screw falling down into cylinder #4, I've noticed a bit of smoke when the engine's running. It's mostly after initial startup, but it continues to smoke a little after it's been running. I'm fairly positive that one of two thing is happening. Either a valve seal was damaged, causing oil to collect in the cylinder while the car's not running. This would cause the excessive smoking at startup. Or, the cylinder was was scored (scratched) by the debris getting tossed around in the cylinder, causing the car to smoke while it's running.
If it's just the valve seal, then replacing the engine won't be necessary, but if the cylinder wall was damaged, then I think it would probably be easier for me to just swap the motor, rather than pull the motor, separate the block, take it to a machine shop to have it honed/bored, reassemble the motor, and put it back in the car. Especially since, whatever I do, I'd like to accomplish it in a weekend.
So, given all of that information, where's the best place for me to find a replacement FS 2.0L engine? Better yet, is there somewhere that I could find a full MSP swap or front clip?
