Where should I mount my boost gauge?

I personally think the vent option is the worst. For one, it does not point towards the driver. For two its way to far down and too the left to be worth anything. And finally, it takes away a vent that you will miss come summertime :)

A-Pilar all the way in my opinion as it is at eye level and a quick glance is all it take to see all the data. I have a 2 pod A-pilar and I love mine.

And to the OP. The way you went is cool, but I would get a gauge that matches my other gauges and not blue. Again, that is personal choice but I like my stuff to match.

ya, i thought the same about getting a gauge that matches my others, but when i did some more research and looking around, i found out that i actually really like the way the blue contrasts the amber of our instrument panel...:D

Steering column, and I like Prosports mounting pod the best so far! :)

I dont know why I dont see many of these. But I love the autoexe 3 pod thing that goes on top fo the center console. I know it is expensive but I love how it looks.

i'm coing to mount on the column when i get my prosport. i'll prolly just fab up a pod/mount and use DS tape. no drilling on my interor.

I was gonna do the pillar thing but I decided on the left vent instead and Im glad I did, it looks stock, and it gets less attention from the cops too I guess.

No offense to anyone with the steering wheel column gauges but... imo they just look awful. zero integration... awkward wire hanging loose... interferes with the main gauges... the circular lighting is all F'ed up...it's just wrong

I'm not a big fan of a pillars (mostly because they sort of symbolize rice) but if those are the choices, a pillar's the way to go. whoever said it's no good cuz it's not in your line of sight is wrong... i mean, how often do you need to look at your boost gauge anyway?

anywayz... I'd recommend looking into how to mount it inside the air vent to the left of your steering wheel. a couple of members have done this and it looks awesome... perfect location and, apparently doesn't affect the hvac as much as you think.

other than that... short of modifying your center cluster and putting in a pod or 3... there's not much more you can do.

Wouldn't the A pillar guages be a bit of a safety hazard in the event that the curtain airbags blow ?

The airbag is all the way at the very top of the a-pillar and there is a plastic plunger piece that holds the top of the a-pillar to the car. This will allow the a-pillar to drop about 2 inches so there is room for the airbag to deploy but it doesn't allow the a-pillar to shoot off.

I agree with this guy. Vent install looks awesome. But you need to used a 60 mm gauge. The Defi looks great but the prosport is a better bargain and simpler wiring.

Another option I like is the Mearcat gauge pod that sits on the dash in the corner. This install is great because it's non-destructive. My only drawback is that my Navi sits there.

You can mount it flush with no wires showing.
