i, personally, am leaning towards the steering column mount right now...tell me what you guys are thinking! =d

steering column FTW!!

a pillar makes you look too far away from the action IMHO

since you already have it on the pillar???, also where you have it on the steering collum its to low i posted min where your radar is

ya, i wanted to keep it low because i don't like blocking any of my instruments. i, personally, wouldn't have any trouble reading it down there.

i had it on the a-pillar before, but it's very easy to move around...like 10min of work to get it buckled down cleanly...=d

mine only blocks the seatbelt light, and its easy to install the top part of the steering collum just snaps off drill 2 little wholes pop it back in and then screw it down, i do think your set up on the pillar looks pretty good at least you don't have to look way down to see it..lol

ya, i just can't stand looking too far down or to the side to see something that i really need to look at real-time in order to make sense of...=d

if you decide to mount it the mount i got was made by autometer and its REAL carbon fiber that braket came with it check it out

whoa...daaaang...where did you get it and for how much? i've got an autometer cobalt, so i'm sure that would fit like a glove...:D

I bought mine from SGP Performance in Houston for $35. Its made by Autometer so if you can't find it where you live i'm sure its on their website. Yeah to me its perfect I can see all boost levals in real time while i'm driving and it only blocks the seatbelt light but who cares..lol

honestly, the thing that i'm really fiendin for is just the carbon fiber cup that it comes in...can you easily detach that and mount it without the mounting bracket? :D

yeah true, but i like the bracket it letes you ajust the position of the guage up and down. Good luck with it bro gotta run!!

I like it on the steering column too. I had a question though...isn't the radar detector supposed to be in view of the road for maximum effeciency? Maybe I am thinking of how it used to be but I always though it should be able to "see" the road front/back. No?

haha...that's the V1 concealed display...;) the actual unit is mounted up by my rear view mirror. quite honestly, this is the main reason i got the v1 (other than the fact that it has l33t detection)...now NO ONE can see flashing lights except me! ;)

I'm gonna say a pillar. I have one now and am in the middle of painting it to match the interior light grey color.

I'm going to say a pillar as well... I mean the only real reason I would get one is for looks anyway and it looks better on the pillar in my opinion. What functional purpose would a boost gauge serve anyways for the average person? I guess if you got a boost controller it would sorta make sense but otherwise I don't see the point other then I think it makes the car look more raced out, etc. I’m assuming that the functional reasoning behind getting a boost gauge is to monitor what you’re boosting after tweaking / upping the PSI.

It is a way of monitoring the overall condition of your car, just like a temperature gauge or voltage meter. It lets you keep an eye on the turbo system.

i ended up putting it on the steering column because i wanted all my needles in the same general area and don't really want to call attention to the fact that i have an easily-ganked boost gauge sitting in my car...;)
