I own an 04 mazda6 and I am want to replace the small bulbs in the headlights that make them glow with LED bulbs. I believe they are 194 bulbs but I have done some searching on this site with no results. Can anyone refer me to a website where I can buy some LED replacements? Also, anyone have pics of their 6's with this done? Thanks for your help.

Ive been putting this off for a long time, and i finally put in my order 5 mins ago. Go to www.superbrightleds.com

You will want 6 WLED-x5 Wide Angle LED bulb (color of your choice)

I hope they fit because they look and say what i need.

There was a right up from someone who owned a mazda3, but the bulbs are different, You will actually needs 6 map lights, weird i know. because they door ones and the back ones are all map lights like up front for the 6, kind of conveinient. You can get reverse lights too. Good luck man

Hey dont take off after starting this thread, either you or me has to make a write up now lol - what color do you plan on getting.... mabey you should get them UV ones - id like to see how those turn out, if they are any good. Mabey ill buy another set if I saw how they looked. But as for me im going black on red for my whole car. So i bought red ones :)

I just ordered cool white, and plan on getting all my interior lights and reverse lights in a couple weeks. As of now I have blue lights but I don't turn them on because I am afraid of getting a ticket. After I install them I will post a pic.

Anyone know how to change them small bulbs in the headlights??? i was just gonna get some blue ones to stick in there

Take the back cover off of the headlight assembly, it just pops off. Then reach into the backside of the headlight assembly and the harness for the small bulb twists out with a 1/4 or 1/2 turn.

After installing the LED bulbs

I am very satisfied with these and will be replacing a lot more bulbs on the car with them, anyone know which bulbs to get to replace the reverse lights?

I actually order full interior bulbs...they are here - just have to pick them up at the post office because my mail box was too small or some crap.... Apartment boxes suck lol. Ill be posting pictures of the install and befor and after shots.

As for the reverse lights, im sure they are probably the same. So here is the write up for the mazda3 bulb fitments.

You will need TWO of the WLED-x5 Wide Angle LED bulb (white of course) for the licence plate light, THREE more of the WLED-x5 Wide Angle LED bulb (color of your choice) for the glove box light (1) and map light (2). TWO 7440-xLX3 Luxeon LED buld (white of course) will be used for the reverse light. TWO 3022-x9 LED Festoon bulb (color of your choice) for the dome light and the trunk/cargo light.

pretty pissed off, i orderd 6 tiny little LEDs for interior, and now i have to wait probly another week, because they US post office here decided it didnt need to be sent to my address so they sent it back. So now since its in limbo, i just bought another set....yeah another 22 bucks. and i have to wait till thursday to call them and demand my refund, super pissed.

I ordered all of mine from superbrightleds.com

I used the wedge style for the four dome lights, and the 5 LED ones for the door lights. I also used some 4-LED bulbs for the license plate lights. For the ambient lights in the headlamps, I ordered the PIAA LED white bulbs, since the ones on SB don't say their rated for high-temp applications. All of mine are in cool white.

As for the reverse lights, I've not found a bulb that will work. Our backup bulbs are a funny base and they don't carry a cross reference on their site yet.

Ah, crap. Sorry I missed this thread earlier guys. I have ordered from superbright, and also autolumination.com, and the ones I found to be the best for the parking lights (or DRLs) are the Tower II or III from autolumination.

Here's my review thread... I haven't tried the Tower III in my headlights, but the II works GREAT.

By the way, I had great service from both companies.

Spent a bit on bulbs have we lol Looks great tho, think i'm going to order the same

lol, yeah, I spent a bit more than I needed to, but I really wanted to make sure the ones I was getting looked good. In the first order I just got one of everything to test. :)

Hey OJ, did you happen to find any that are bright enough for reverse bulbs? I've looked and come up with nothing.

tunersteve, I'm still a little reluctant to try the reverse or tail bulbs. A friend ordered some at the same time I did mine and he tried a few different things, but nothing that worked really well IMO. The reverse ones he got looked great, but they didn't put out as much light as the stock bulbs, and with my tint, that can be a problem. The only thing left I might try is something like the stealth silver or super white standard replacement bulbs from autolumination in the attached pic. It's hard to find an LED bulb that's really bright enough to be practical.

I had some awesome LED reverse bulbs on my Protege, but they were a different bulb base. Even with 5% tint at night, I could still see much better than stock. They were about $20 each, but well worth it.

Hmmm. I just took a quick look and there is a version of the Tower designed to fit our "921" reverse lights. I just don't know if it would put out enough light. The 921 is a wedge type bulb too, so the 194s that I have now may fit, which I'll try to check this week, just to get an idea of the light output.

Maybe while I'm in there I can find where my taillights are leaking into the spare tire well. :(

Edit: Ooh! It looks like superbright has something similar to the Tower series now about halfway down the page... I swear these weren't there when I was buying a few months ago. http://superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

Unfortunately, the 194 style bulb doesn't allow for too many bright bulbs. If it were an 1157 or similar style socket, we'd have plenty of options.
