but my intakes has nowhere this fits. i have just been keeping it out cuz i have no idea where to put it SANY0026.webp

That is your intake air temp sensor, On that intake I dont know where it goes.

should be a hole in one of the tubes with a rubber grommet. install with the rubber grommet. it appears to be an AEM label on the tube. try looking up the model number on the AEM website. there are PDF installation instructions hosted on their site.

lol ok well it was an intake i bought from autozone it wasnt even for my car. but i customized it to fit by cutting it to a smaller size also there is a hole that i blocked off that came with it. but it doesnt fit in that hole..

never mind i guess i didnt throw it away i found the rubber grommet and put it in the hole that i had plugged but it wouldnt reach it so i had to cut part of tape holding the MAF sensor wires and the wires to the intake temp together it barley was able to make it but i got it to fit =)

now i have a question.. which has to be first the MAF sensor or the intake temp sensor?

in the stock airbox, the temp sensor is positioned first (meaning air goes thru the filter then past the temp sensor, before going into the MAF sensor). i dont believe it will make a significant difference where you relocate it, but keeping consistent with the sensor's original position might be a good idea; most aftermarket systems place it first, infront of the MAF sensor.

i made a small '+' cut in the end of my filter and pushed it through the slices and it fit secure and sealed well and was in front of the MAF

well i have it so its my filter attached to maf sensor than its the temp sensor.. it doesnt seem to be effecting my car in a bad way.. i actually feel like im getting more torque in low rpms

if your getting any increase in torque or power it would be from the intake not the placement of the IAT. The IAT's reading really only helps the ecu out when its either extremely cold or extremely hot, most of the time in between it is just there to help control emissions by making the ecu run more efficiently.

well since before i had it just chillin in my engine bay it would have been getting all the heat from my headers saying my intake was temp was warm. right?

well unless you had the sensor hanging out by the exhaust manifold and it doesn't have the heat shield on the manifold then sure, but if it was over near where the stock air box was then the cone filter is still sucking up the same air that the sensor was already reading. The air isn't going to change much from having ti next to the intake to having the sensor in the intake tube. If you had a CAI i would say the temp inside the intake may be slightly lower than the temperature that the sensor was getting before just sitting outside the intake.

well my engine bay is pretty hot i have obx 4-1 headers they make alot of heat and dont have a heat shield for them and the sensor was kinda close..
