Just called the local Mazda dealer and they want $427 to install the block heater (including part which is $153 Cdn.).
Given the overall cost, looks like they are charging about 2-3 hrs. labor, so suspect they have to take some stuff apart/out to remove the block plug and install the heater plug.

Looks like it comes with instructions to install. Guess I could order the part, check out the install instructions and then decide if I want to do it myself....or hand it over to the dealer.
