Where is the 2009 Mazda6 for North America??

yeah but which GT30 turbo is it? 3071 or 3076? There's a difference, I'm thinking the guy has a 3071... and the 3076 spools in the later RPMs... a peak HP at 6k rpm isn't all that great considering the throttle plate closes before that. sounds pretty useless, impressive numbers on a dyno, but how does it fare out at the strip or on the street (aka roll race like everyone does these days)?

Pretty useless? Heres the dyno:

300wtq/225whp at 3600 rpm....thats more tq than the ms3 makes at that point stock and nearly what the ms3 makes in peak hp.....and thats at 3600 rpm. So yes, I would say thats a huge improvement even with the throttle plate closing. If he decides to get the AP and a custom protune he can make power to redline with the throttle open. If you're wondering what the dip is, its the stupid synapse bpv he was testing out.

I could see a lot of potential if they turbo'd the new v6 but I highly doubt they will. I would be suprised if they even came out with another speed6. they didnt sell that well the first time around. but a turbo'd 3.7l would be awesome lol

Learn english, read what I said.... peak power at nearly redline with the throttle plate CLOSED at 6k rpm, is useless in my P.O.V.

I hope the socalled AP and the custom protune you brag about has solved the throttle plate issue.... because to my knowledge it STILL hasn't been fixed. Thus the throttle plate STILL closes. So has the AP solved the said issue of the throttle plate closing? Because the current EMS from CPE and the XEDE won't stop it.

So unless the AP has completely solved the throttle plate, he'll still have minor issues, so he actually won't make FULL potential power of the car all the way to redline. You also didn't answer my question regarding whether it was a 3071 or 3076. As I'd like to know which turbo it was. And what supporting mods he has on the car.

Dyno sheets and numbers sure do look pretty, but I'm more concerned about how his powerband works on the street and the strip.

An example would be the SRT-4s with the stage 3, ever notice how they don't start pulling in fast off the gun?

It already set to come out, many of us would like to see a twin turbo v6 (kinda like how BMW did the TT 335i with it's 6 cylinder)

But Mazda's plans are a 2.5L 4 banger :(

ya i figured they would use the 4 banger. there might be a plus side to that tho. considering the v6 will have 272, a speed version imo has to atleast eclipse to 300hp mark to even be marketable with awd it would still be heavier so idk, they jsut better not mess up haha

Its a 3071. Yes, cobb has complete control over the throttle. They concluded (with evidence) that the opening the throttle on the stock turbo makes negligible difference (it was like 5 hp). However, for a turbo like this it will obviously make a huge difference.

Granted, this is all for the speed3, I was just using it as an example since the engine is the same. Unfortunately, cobb doesn't have any plans to make an AP for the ms6 as the ecu is vastly different than the ms3.
