When turning off the MS6...

As our car is turning off (after the key has been turned), is it me or does the engine sound like its going to fall apart and drop to the ground. It seriously sounds like crap and the the whole car shakes along with the crank and pistons coming to a halt. Also, anyone here a rattling during idle? It sounds like a tool has been left on top of the intercooler plastic cover and its just resonating to the frequency of the idle speed.

Anyway, taking my car to Mazda tomorrow in regards to CEL p0300....those guys are so good at stating "I cant duplicate your issue".

I think the rattling you are hearing is from the injectors .... direct injection lots of psi...

On the same note when I turn off mine after about 5 secs I hear what sounds like some type of actuator going through it's motion...lasts for about 3 secs as if something is closing...any ideas? headlights?

I don't have an MS6, but I've noticed the same noise in my MS3, I *think* it's something like a water pump, at least that's what it sounds like. Don't think it's doing any harm.

I noticed an increase in NVH during shutdown after I installed a TRZ RMM, do you have anything like that?

I noticed a similar noise when I turn off my car, and the car does shake a little bit however this is only when I turn off my car right away as in as soon as I come to a complete stop after a long drive. Usually, I wait about 30 seconds (turn off the lights, turn down the music volume, heat/AC, ect.) and then when I turn it off the ignition it's fine. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but sometimes it gets me wondering...

i know exactly what your talking about with the "sounds like i left a tool there-vibration". it sucks, its annoying.
could be the VVT tsb (mostly upon start up and idle)
i still just dont know. cant decide wether or not to take a few mods off and take it into the dealer because they will probably not replicate it.

i was thinking this noise was the butterfly on the throttle body closing or opening or adjusting or something. you know, maybe an emission's thing.

Can you put a clip up of it? That sounds normal (for this car anyways), but to hear it would help a lot. I thought the same thing... it shuts off pretty sloppy.. like the engine is on it's last leg, and it vibrates a bit... like 3 or 4 grunts as it cuts out.
If it sounds something like that, it's nothing to worry about.

I remember reading an M-tips bulletin on the fan staying on after the key is off, and I also hear what sounds like the fuel system priming itself after the car is shutdown, but that's about it.
