Wheels?!?

Hello all.
I've been looking at an 02 P5 with 53k on the clock. Test-drove her today. Strong and smooth. I was impressed.
Asking 9k. Not bad I'd think.

Why wheels as the topic? Well, simple. There are summer tires on the stock rims. I'm in Colorado. If last winter happens again, summer tires would be suicide.
SO....
Will 15" rims fit, or will the front brakes interfere? Reason being, 195/50R16's are freakin pricey.
TireRack suggests 195/55R15's for their winter tire-steelie rim package. Will they work??? $77 a tire beats $109 a tire.....

Thanks much. All part of considering buying it.

I run 185/60r15's in the winter with no problems, in fact some people run 14 inch winter tires without problems.

Hey man - welcome!

Yeah, that size fits fine. I have 195/55/15 for my winters on steelies...no problems!

Sweet. Good to know.
We're working on getting it in for a CCC Inspection. Something like $150, but its a 6 or 7 page printed report. All kinds of measurements, tests, etc... We'll see what comes of that if it gets done.

I'll let ya'll know if it happens or not.

BTW... Headlights aside, what goes most frequently on a manual P5?

I run 14 inch steelies from an Eagle Talon wrapped with Michelin X-Ice tires in size 185/70R14. Grips as hell!!!!

Front calipers clear the rim by 1/4th of an inch, it's a tight fit but it worth it!

So, Four 14" Eagle Talon rims: 120$
Primer, Black gloss paint and bronze paint (cans): 30$
Michelin Tires: 400$

Grand Total: 550$

I'll post pics tomorrow!!
