Wheel waxing?

This may seem evident to everyone but me! Are the speed
wheels powder coated? Does one wax them or just wash them?

**1500 miles on my 3 and I still love it!**

PS- on the car itself I use Meguires NXT paste wax- it does
a great job.

They are painted. Just wash and wax like the rest of the car.

i use sealant (megs#21) on my wheels. its a bit more durable, and IMO gives a better depth in color as well.

Pretty much any wax you use will melt off the wheels in a matter of a week or 2 due to high heat while braking. Sorry guys.

When I detail cars, I wash the car and wheels with a car shampoo. While I'm waiting for the wax to cure, I usually go around to all the wheels and dress the tires and spray the wheels down with a basic (usually the red Meguiars bottle) quik detailer. This gets em clean and spiffy!

I use the same meguiars detailer on the main body. I have only waxed my car once, but ,with the use of the detailer you would think I just waxed it. (possible run on sentence)! What tire dressing do you use?

I've been pretty faithful to Mother's Mag Wheel Polish, been using it for a few years now and it does a nice job. In a pinch I'll also use a spray detailer, my detailer of choice if Gliptone's "Body Gloss".

For tires I use dilted Meguiars Hyper Dressing 3:1.
after waxing I use Meguiars #34 Final Inspection quick detailer
After washing I'll use whichever QD I have handy, usually #34.
