This is my first attempt at a real contribution (other than stupid questions and smart-ass remarks). Attached is a spreadsheet you can use to compare the effect different wheel and tire sizes will have on your car. The data entered is for a 2007 NA 3, but it will work for any car with up to 6 forward gears (MS3?) for which you know the gear and final drive ratios, and redline. The small tables on the top of the "output" sheet give you a quick comparison of the tire sizes expressed in percentages, and the four others show the speed in gear v. rpm and rpm for speed in gear.
Just follow the directions on the "input" sheet and see what you get on the "output". The "output" sheet is protected so you cannot inadvertantly delete any of the formulae, but if you are comfortable enough to change things, the password is zoomzoom (original, no?).
