Wheel cleaner sprays...safe on the brake rotors/calipers?

Hey guys,

Do you guys know if those wheel/tire cleaner sprays are safe on the brake assembly?
Some of them I've used in the past have said "Avoid contact with brake assembly", but I'm currently using Eagle One Wheel Cleaner, and it says nothing about avoiding any of the brake assembly.

My wheel spokes are pretty thin, so it's pretty much unavoidable getting some overspray on the calipers and rotor.

I'm assuming it must be safe, but just wondering if anybody has had any bad experiences...

Probably a precaution so it doesn't leave an acid etching. It really only
happens when the brakes or wheels are extrememly hot. Just don't use it after a long drive.

I'd also avoid cleaning your wheels immediately after driving. Allow 30min or so for the wheels/brakes to cool down.

You really should not need to use a wheel cleaner frequently in the first place. See this thread...

Use a wheel cleaner, then car soap, and then seal/wax the wheels. From then on, you won't need any wheel cleaners, and you can sleep easy knowing that car soap won't have any adverse effects on your rotors, calipers, lines, paint, etc...

I am a wheel cleaning fanatic. I clean them first before washing the car. Usually, just the Meguairs car wash soap is good enough to get the dirt off them. But my wheels never look like those in the picture on the link. After cleaning the outer wheel, I use a brush and a rag to clean the inner wheel. An old tooth brush works great on the calipers. Every few months, you can apply a coat of wax or polish to them as well and they will be easier to clean.
