Anyways, I love my speed6, which i've had for about 5 months now..its my favorite car I've owned. I realize that a lot of you have done many mods to your car, mines completely stock. Just curious if anyones had a stock speed6 for an extended period of time and not ran into any major issues. I'm just a little nervous after reading alot of the problems, though I don't know if a lot of it has to do with people moding their speed? I haven't had any big issues, but I do use my speed as an everyday car and just wanted to see what you guys thought. Maybe I'm looking into it to deep as obviously this is a place to come to about issues with the car and to share them. Basically, is this car really that problematic? Obviously i've got alot of money invested in it and am just concerned I guess. Thanks for your thoughts

My opinion would be to just enjoy your car. All cars are meant to be driven and used. There are going to be issues that pop up along the way. That's just the nature of wear and tear on an automobile.

I think in some cases where people have had trouble after modding that it is because of how they're driving the car. They are probably enjoying the car and pushing it to its limits at least every once in a while.

This car may be perceived as a little problematic, but I think that's because the people who buy this type of car like to really push the car. We also expect more out of our cars. You could buy one of the million Camry's out there and you would still have problems in the long-run.

Just take care of your car. Do the recommended services on-time. Read our forum as well as others and actively participate in the community of people who enjoy this car as much as you do. Odds are - 100,000 miles from now if you've done that you will likely not regret owning your Mazdaspeed 6.

I've modded mine pretty extensively and it's been great to me - no issues at all. Most of the engine issues have been on the MS3's oddly enough, but there are more of them out there too.

my stock 6 has had more problems in 40 days then my honda has had in 2 years. but hey, used car = can of worms which i really had no idea what this broad had done to the car so. live and learn. but i still really enjoy driving it.

My MS6 is mildly modified, and I never had any problem with it. The only 'issue' I had was for a sticking EGR valve I think (it was a recall). I pulled the code with a scanner, saw what it was, cleared it, and it never came back on. I refuse to have the recall's performed because I dont want the engine ECU reflashed.

But, typically I drive it like a normal individual. Average accels/decels and turns. About once a day (normally after work when I am just really excited to leave) will I open her up on the ride home. But, dont abuse it, and she will keep coming back for more.

I have had my car since January and as of right now no problems as of right now. And my car is basically stock except for the HKS SSQV BPV. I've taken the car to the track once, and no problems has yet to occur, knock on wood. But any car that is driven hard something will be bound to break.
