What's the ordering process like??

In our case, they wanted a deposit before the dealer trade was initiated.

We did the entire deal before they dealer traded for us, but, we made it clear we reserved the right to reject it, if we found any scratches or dings. We went over it with a fine tooth comb, and fortunately ours was fine.

For the $895 destination fee (or whatever it is, I know it's north of $800), I'd expect the dealer I was working with to get me the car in whatever means necessary (and pay for it) without putting miles on it. Whatever that means to them, fine, but I would not be paying extra.

I was lucky enough that my car was at a nearby dealer only about 15-20 miles away and I said it was fine to drive it over. If it had been much more than that, I'd have said no, find another way to get it to me.
That is the delivery charge from the port to the initial dealer. If a transfer is needed via carrier, you would need to cough it up or see if the dealer will (I'm doubtful, and if they do, you likely overpaid for the car). It's a bit of a hassle to them, so you have less power in twisting their arm about it.

Yea my dealer actually never cashed the check. They wanted a good faith deposit to show we were serious. They repeated twice that they would not be cashing it.

Our vehicle had a scratch on the bumper at delivery. They fixed it the following week, gave me a rental and everything.
