Whats the difference?

according to my parents a lot more then what my brother is paying right now. They said itll be twice the ammount that my brother is paying right now which i dont fully believe cuz i think they jus dont want me to get a turbo charged car and im 17 and ill still b 17 when i get a car and my bro is 19 and they are goin to pay for insurance(lucky i kno) so they are trying to keep it equal. i jus don see how it would rly b twice as much, does a turbo rly make that big of a difference?

I work for an insurance company here in canada and the difference between an MS6 and a regular 6 isn't that much to be honest. You might as well just buy and MS6 in my opinion.

i thought the difference in insurance is because the speed6 is a sports car. the M6 isnt classified as one on the insurance. thatll shoot the insurance up as well as the fact that hes a minor.

ive got a M6. its a 6spd V6 automatic

the base M6 or the I trim come with a 2.3 L I4

the V6 is optional on the S trim.

i love my car i got vids up on youtube of me goin 0-60

7 sec flat. which is ok, its not like oooo wow, but its good.

This has to be the most pointless post ever. Your 17 and your question is whats the best one for racing? Nice. Enjoy losing your liscense. Not to mention you have no car now so you have no driving experience.

Why dont you get the FnF dreams out of your head and try not to kill anyone first, learn how to drive and then try racing on a track. Drag strip or autocross.

Anyways, so insurence is too expensive and yet you want to know which car is better for a turbo? How can you not afford insurence, but you can afford a turbo set up? They arent cheep, espcially if you want to do it right.

Why dont you get a used car, honestly its your first car so it really doesnt matter what it is. Get something to learn on and leave it when your done. Dont waste your money on mods for your first car.

yeah im 17 my first car was a 1994 oldsmobile cutlass. i needed a new car however, cuz the cutty was never maintained. i spen t absolutely nothhing in on it. it still has the same tires since the lat tire change. its got hood damage and everything. its not worth anything. the only thing that makes it good is my audio setup

2 12" polk audio wooofers w/ polk 850 2 channel amp

whichi hope to move to the mazda. i have no idea how to do this without losing all the trunk space.

anyway.

a first car should always be a beater. always. it makes me sick to look into the parking lot at school, and see audis and bmw ans benzs

Between turbo mazda and naturally aspirated Mazda...BIG DIFFERENCE in power and torque and I think insurance is something like 10-15% more because of the turbo. I can see where your parents are coming from because I'm 36 (old fart) and have owned some pretty sick cars over the years and the Speed6 can "get away from you" if your not careful. I say this because when the turbo kicks in, HOLD ON!!

Also, for me, the biggest power gain, for the least amount of money would be a CAI. It doesn't mess with your warranty and it can be easily removed if questions arise at the dealership.

Good luck with whatever car you decide to go with.(smoke)

A voice of reason...I love it!(burnout)

Why don't you just call the insurance company yourself and ask them for quites for all the cars that you are talking about??? They do that for free. and as far as racing goes, you really should learn how to drive your car before you start racing your car. Now don't take that as an insult it's just the truth. Most people think they know how to "race" when they can bearly drive. Go to a solo event and pretend your a sponge. There will be stoopid people there too but information is power and practice makes perfect.

My insurance is the same as if it was a NA 6. I even asked my agent if that was right and she said that State Farm looks at them the same. My insurance card even states Mazda6 Mazdaspeed6 on it.

But I agree you should do less worrying about how fast you can drive and more about how safe you can drive.

Get a used Protege ES or something else. If you have problems with insurance, what about the car payment? A used car is your friend: cheaper insurance, payment, licensing etc. I hope you're not talking about street racing because if you wreck the new car, then you'll be in a bad position. If you aren't talking about street racing then the Pro is a good AutoX platform....not so much on drag racing but you will be able to save some money up for go fast goodies and handling goodies to make the car your own.

I'm not just pushing the Pro either. A used Civic or older Accord or 323 or whatever is a better option. My first car was a 1990 Cavalier....(eekdance)

used ftw

No i wasnt talking about street racing, and as far as the racing comment i had it was for more like down the road cuz i kno i may not b a good driver now and i know that prob cant handle a car goin top speed which is why im not gonna push it for a while but i just was asking because i plan i going to the track every now and then once i can controll the car and im not even sure when ill be modding it, it may be in a yr or two who knows. i plan on keeping this car for a loooong time so im not rly in a rush to put any mods into but i was thinking of the possibilities for down the road. and i understand what you guys are saying about handling the power and everything which is why im prob gonna get the MS3 which is why i havent been posting here and i kno that the MS3 may be to much power for me but thats y i said i was jus gonna take it slow. I jus dont want you guys to get the wrong impression of me, and i do actually pay attention to your posts and actually think about them.

Well, good luck to you with the MS3. Maybe I am a bit biased because I don't believe in buying new cars but I still think you should really think about a used car. Have fun with it though.

I would never buy a turbo car used. Most people don't know how to take care of them properly. I don't really like used cars in general for that matter.

Good God, English Classes FTL.

You sound like a normal 17 year old and you come off that way in your posts. Which isnt a bad thing, since thats exactly what you are.

Just take it easy, dont wreck and dont kill anyone.

Sometimes its not top speed. You can wreck a lot of different ways. Just because your not flying down the highway doesnt mean nothing will happen.
