Okay, just looked at your mod list and your dedicated boost gauge is fine so that's not a feature need for you.mazdaspdprotege said:im gonna put it on the steering wheel column so i dont really care about size. and yes i researched if hks had the built in boost gauge it would have been the best. im gonna get a boost controller later so i can use that for digital boost monitering and my greddy boost gauge is pretty accurate too . is it easy to install the type 1 ? do i have to tap in bunch of s*** to get all that readings ? and also how much hp will i gain from this mod at stock boost ?
(lol)how much hp will i gain from this mod at stock boost ?

If IIRC installation is not that difficult and there are how-to's floating around on the forum somewhere that tell you exactly which wires to tap.
You'll need to tap 3 wires for power needs then you can easily tap the wires going into your speedo cluster for RPM, parking brake, and other needs. It's been a while since I installed mine so I don't remember exactly what is needed.
And I hope you are kidding, about the HP. A turbo timer gains you absolutely nothing in terms of performance. It will help you lengthen the life of your turbo by letting the car cool down with causing you the in-convenience of having to sit there while it does so. If you get something like the HKS-Type I you will have plenty of other toys to go along with basic timer functions.
Also you are gonna have to do something with relays to get it to work with your factory alarm if you are still using it. The same holds true for an aftermarket alarm.
thanks for the offer i saw ur thread already, but i dont believe in buying used electronics on the net. good luck with the sale tho.GearSlammer said:im selling my blitz fatt type x. it has an in-cabin thermometer, voltmeter, and like 5 diffferent timing set ups. and best of all, you can adjust the color of the display. i used it for less than 6 months. $65 shipped.
You will need to tap into three wires off your ignition (red 12v constant, blue 12v when key is on, and black/white accessory), then you need to tap into two wires off your ECU (I can get you the pin numbers if you want), and then the wire coming from your parking brake. It took me about an hour with soldering to get everything taken apart and put back together, but I'm an electrician so it would probably take you a little longer if you are careful.jrodhotrod said:You'll need to tap 3 wires for power needs then you can easily tap the wires going into your speedo cluster for RPM, parking brake, and other needs.
