Which brand is best? Or maybe the better questions is, is there any brand I should avoid?

Last I heard, the AEM didn't fit very well with the auto trans. Other than that, they are mostly the same. You'll get different opinions but hard facts will be difficult to come by.

I love my simota SRI gives a noticably better throttle response and sounds cool plus you dont need to remove the intake resonator.

How hard would it be to return to stock? Does anything get permenantly modified?

No. Nothing is permanent. It's all just bolt-on.

The SRI can go back to stock in less than an hour because you don't have to remove the intake resonator. CAI's are much more difficult and cost a lot more. I think you can get the Simota for 124.99 plus shipping.

Which religion is right?

They're all just about the same. I've got AEM, and while it works good, I would reccomend Injen to K&N because this wistel-wine gets annoying even though it only happens from 2-3k at 1/3 throttle.

all of this intakes do that. mine does it between 2500-4000k. I agree that it is annoying because it sounds squeaky some times.

i have the umnitza and am very happy with it, though as stated above the whine at certian rpm's.... its different with all, i went sri instead of cai b/c of the resonator and the ability to go back to stock easier... plus carbon fiber is cool!!! (cabpatch)

we will soon be offering the Unmitza, perhaps as a group buy if there is sufficient interest

an intake is an intake it doesn't even matter if is one of the ebay intakes they all do the same, the reason why aem doesn't fit so well on the at is because it has he's onw version of intake.

sorry but all intakes are not the same. The position of the sensors is different the size of the MAF housing is different. Filter sizes are different and tube length is different. The performance of intake depends on these factors and only well designed intakes will give you performance without CELs. As for the ebay intake read this.

for your info that aint a ebay intake, he bought it at ebay, but that does mean nothing, look something is that mazda 3 is a new car but ebay intakes are great for proteges and everything else that is not so new, sure that now there are going to be some sucky intakes, because of the car being so new but give it a lil time, also read this http://www.mazda3club.com/showthread.php?t=38674&highlight=injen+ebay

also heres the link for the cosmo crap intake
http://www.cosmoracing.com/productinfo.asp?cid=143&pid=1098

and what i was saying is that the aem intakes, injen and Unmitza are all great and they do the allmost the same. allmost the same performance and sound.

also i bought my aem in ebay (an its not an ebay intake), and it works perfectly.
now for cars like the 3 i will say buy name brands, injen, aem, Unmitza.

anyways i dont want to fight with noboby, i came here to give this menber my opinion and my opinion is that the 3 name brands mentioned before, are all good and i think you should just go for the one you like the most visible, i have to say that the injen comes in polished the aem in blue red and polished and the Unmitza really dont know so there you go.
