What's good with ford fusion rims?

The pennies have been saved the MS3 is mine!
Long story short tire rack seems to keep delaying my winter setup that I had ordered from them so I am looking ofr alternatives on Ebay. Right now I am thinking of getting some ford fusion rims in 17x7.5 in a 44mm offset. I see a set of 4 for $300 so that looks about as cheap as I will get for winter wheels. I would have liked to go with 16s but I can't find any. So will the fusion wheels work on the MS3?

44mm offset shouldnt be a problem, but it will def be more of a squeeze than if the offset was a bit higher

Ok, the only thing I was worried about was since they are a half inch over stock width if the 44 would still be good. I might just go this route unless anyone can reccommend some good 16s that I could put on.

yeah thats a good point, i guess you arent looking at steelies? thats probly the most affordable (although least stylish) solutions for winter

I would gladly get a pair of steelies(that would be my first choice actually) if someone could tell me where I could find a set that fit.

well, you could always get steelies from tirerack. as far as what tires to get, i would recommend getting some blizzaks...from tirerack...^^;

honestly, it's best to get the entire set from a place like tirerack, because they mount and balance the entire setup for you...then all you need to do is just bolt the things on and gooooo!

YEa Blizzaks for sure I have had great expieriences with them. But tirerack is sold out of steelies(and almost any other 16 inch alloy as well) thus bringing me to my search of other oem wheels that will fit.

well, i wouldn't worry about the ford fusions if you're tossing snow tires on them. you would be using 215/50/17s, most likely, and 44mm offset should be enough for them! if you're REALLY paranoid, you can always go with 205/50/17 or something like that! =d

actually, i would check out what the center bore size on the fusion rims are. mazda requires very high bore sizes, so if that doesn't fit, you might have to go ghetto about things and have it bored out for you or something crazy...

I am scared to bore out any rims but I think ford and Mazda share the same center bores(it is rather large in comparison to other brands) and I think mitsubishi is the same as well.

i'm *almost* certain Fusion has the same center bore size as 3's, since all mazdas have the same bore size, and fusion is mechanically identical to the 6.

Ok, the tirerack order tracking thing says "in stock" for my order as of right now so I guess I will give them till monday before I cancell my order and go with the fusion rims. Thank you for all the replies.

i suggest you call up tirerack and ask them what's up. every time i've talked to them, they've had impeccable customer service. give it a try! =d

I just gave them a call and the guy handling my order is out till the 8th and the other line is busy so I guess I will wait till then to decide about what to do. This is what the current order from tire rack looks like: 16x7 with a 45mm offset and a 205 60 16 tire size.

OK just got my shipping confirmation from tire rack they are good so no need for the fusion rims.(angel)

I am better off this way since the fusions are 17s and I like my snow tires like big dounuts with large sidewalls.
