What would it take to get 200hp N.A.?

Anyone have an idea what it would take to make our cars 200hp and still be naturally aspirated?

Thanks ahead of time...

If you want 200 WHP, you'll need a new motor. LOL...Seriously, look around here for the guys with the Protege's that are N/A. I'm sure almost every one of them would say not to waste your money. Wait for a turbo kit...

if you wanna go n.a. with the 2.3 it would be way to much work to try to get 200whp get a turbo lol

I read on another forum about a tuned Focus procuding over 230whp NA.

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1582016

Scroll down and you'll come across this:
Currently the car is equipped with the following parts:

Marcy Motorsport Hi-Flo Air Intake ($159)
Marcy Motorsport Cam Adjustment Tool Kit ($99)
Marcy Motorsport 200 Series Cams ($519)
Marcy Motorsport Progressive Valve Springs and Titanium Retainers ($299)
Marcy Motorsport Prototype Race Header w/2.5" Flex pipe($450 est.)
Marcy Motorsport Balance Shaft Delete Kit ($30)
Focus Central 2-Piece UDP ($129)
Borla 2.5" Cat-Back ($449)
Autolite 104 Plugs gapped to .065" ($8)
Mobil 1 0W-30 Synthetic ($26)

Total parts cost to add 50whp with bolt-ons: $2168
I'm workin on lending my car to Marcy Motorsport for measurements on the exhaust/header/intake. I'm sure if we support them enough, they'll have the proper tools for our 3s to make some good power.

LOL...this is a totally different engine than the crappy Protege one.
I'd say with header, full cat less exhaust, cai, udp, balance shaft delete, cams with cam alighnment tool and a tuned ECU should get you close to 200whp.

doesn't the 3 have electronic steering? what purpose does the udp serve? Is it safe to swap since I already had pulys replaces after 4000 mi on odo?...My Main "Q"...whats in the 1000hp 2.3 N/A MZR engine? I just want to safely obtain 210 215 whp using whatever technology they have.

anyone knows bout da 1000hp NA engine.. couldnt find any info on it so far.. gonna keep on trying
NA is the way i am keepin my car..

My thing is that I don't want to completly void my warranty, but would like to have some punch in my car... To jump up to 200hp @ the crank (neglecting %power loss) how much easier would that be ,and would it even be worth it?

Here is a start Venome is comeing out w/t 400 module for the 3 some time next year, but at the moment your i dont thinks its possible to get 200hp N/A and not void the warrenty (RTM)

lightly spray and remove when going in for sevice is the only way to not void the warenty

JDM pcm(no emmitions not shure if it is can bus as well) set for 91 octane and also difrent compresion.

Void Warranty?

Can someone please explain what will void my warranty if the guys at the Mazda shop see under the hood. I haven't done anything yet but I am going to beging to tune my MAZDA 3 2.3 Firt car I'm trying this with. Yes yes I know... NEWBIE!!!! I just don't want to void out things. What was meant by lightly spray and remove?

Thanks everyone.

He's talking about a 50 shot of nitrous oxide (spray).

Nothing should void your warranty unless Mazda can prove that your mods caused the failure/problem. Of course, in the real world it doesnt work that way. They will try to deny warranty work for just about anything.

may not void but they can refuse to service cause of an aftermarket part needing to be removed to gain access to a part needing to be fixed. Lets say an intake was on and you needed to replace the malfunctioning TB(common issue with 6ETB's) they have to remove the inatke to fix it. they are trained on removing alot of stuff but ets say the re install it wrong then it's their ass...reason they refuse and maybe try to void warrenty before servicing to avoid them breaking something. in short words pull the intake before service and re install it when you get home. It was a pain the 1st time but it gets quicker each time you do it ;) Let me re say the previous post....lightly and responcibly spray.

Japanese Axela has a more aggressive timing and fueling maps, and requires premium (93) fuel. That gives you as much as your typical intake/header/exhaust does.

That's still only a "crank" rating, which bears no resemblance to wheel horsepower whatsoever.

200 crank horse, will probably cost you about $6 - $7k, all other things being equal.

None of the mods to make it happen will preserve your warranty.
Driveability will suffer.

Thats why most folks want to do turbos/superchargers....
Easy horsepower, and generally reversible.
