what would i have to do to my car if i want to get 300 hps out of my engine

Sweet now that I have an example. Ok well say he has 275 I can take 2,000 buy a 240 sx takeanother 2-3 to throw a gt35 turbo on it( #s might be wrong) and tuning included with that if your doing it yourself and have 320 to 375 hp to the wheels depending on how much you wana push it were at 5k now so take another 2k for a bodykit and paint and 500 to 1k for rims and tires and were at 8k one bad ass car and a daily p5. Just saying you do have better options than building these cars I've already found out that its hard to find parts and when you do its expensive cause only one person makes them. Keep in mind he doesn't have forged internals witch is 800 for rods 600 for pistons. I know it seems like I'm throwing the 240 sx around but its the best example I could think of and I miss mine lol but it didn't handle anywhere near what my mp3 does :) but who needs handling when u can drift ;)

And before anybody says anything for those that don't know a 240 sx motor ka24 can hold 400 hp easily some people have pushed them to the 550 are and not blown them

oh sorry typing to fast but that is a sick mazda speed protege and mp5 is mazda protege5 ur car is sick man i was thinking about geting yellow speed racing coilovers u think that would be good for a nice ass lower man

ya i was thinking about do that but i like to take turns and not drift but if i wanted a drift u know in the futer u can get like one for the track and then one for drift

300hp on a p5 will only get you in 13 because of traction issue. with slick you could be in 12 easy . imo thats pretty good considering e92 m3 run that.

sti's run 13.2-13.5 with a good driver and "only" have 300hp. They are heavier and awd loss is like 25% to the wheels.

I think you should of chosen a better platform if you really want 300hp.... its possible but its going to take a lot of time, money, and patience, and its probably going to give you loads of headaches. As much as i love proteges i dont think it would be worth the 8-10k it would take to hit 300hp.. and i doubt that much wouldnt even get it there.

I agree, its a great car but not worth it to make it fast go with what they are good for suspension or if you do wana put some money in it I would recoment cams header intake and rb exhaust and mp3 ecu. That should get you to around 140 hpish to the wheels which will put up a decent fight for a lot of cars plus the suspension will make it a pretty fun car

tya well first i am going to get my supension then i am goingto get under body braces so it has like no body roll then i am going to up grade my speakers in the interor then new amp then alternator then work on the looks and then the tuning of the engine is way last so ya man i am working it if u guess look at my youtube u can see what i have don so fare the user name is rar40941 on youtube so look it up and tell me what u guys think

Another thing don't take hard turns at high rpms aparently the oil systems is junk on these like a lot of things but if ur looking into beefing it up I would invest in an oil pan and there's a thread on here somewhere that u can fix the oil pump to fic the problem

^In the build for the turbo - just include $$ for the baffled oil pan. It addresses the issue nicley.

To get 300hp your best bet is to sell the car and pick up something else ;)

Already been discussed see page 2 :) I think it was decided to spend about 9k for parts and let's say the p5 is worth 5k 14k total I can think of a few cars for 14k that look nicer and are faster than a p5 an 03ish audi tt for example or a built foxbody mustang pushin 500 hp would go for around 14 depending on the seller. Or if ur rich spend 140,000 get an nissan gtr alpha 9 0-60 in 2.5 seconds but I guess there's always a time to dream. There's also an mp3 forsale on the forum for 5500 slready built and turbod can't beat that price

But u can't say I tunned my car u boought it like that that's y i would want beable to say that guys that's the point and if u tune ur owne car u can put in the power u want the handling u want u can make it fit u

Um no comprende!!??

Fast protege $10k+ without a doubt and worth mentioning (although I have spent nearly 2x that on go fast parts over the past 8yrs) I can pull at least a car from a roll on my bosses $78k 08 zo6 (this was with my old smaller IHI turbo at less boost) Totally worth it to me!! :)

Somebody said 9,000 I didn't mine has no go fast parts yet. But 20,000 in this car I wouldn't understand but that's me but good job on ur build if I had the money id prob do the same thing

dude hell ya thats so ******* sick man i bet after all the work its totlay worth all of it

Honestly if you wanna spend that kinda money on your car... then do it. It' ll be fun, plenty fast, and at the end of the day its yours. AND its not a cookie cutter mustang. Im well over 20k into a ******* cavalier.... alot rag on me for it and thats ok. I feel like I have a one of a kind, very fast, very streetable toy that I built from stock. Its all your preference thats what makes tuning tuning.
