Not counting the farm truck, I got a 1971 or so AMC Ambassador I got for $500. Drove it to death, over two college summers, and sold it for scrap for $35. Then got my first brand new car, a 1982 no options little Toyota Starlet, and drove across country to move to Austin. Of course, I ended up having to live in it for 3 spring months, but I'm almost over that now.

1981 Toyota Celica Supra with the Sport Suspension package and a stripped out interior, roll cage, and a sport clutch... I didn't have my license when I owned it, but I learned to drive on this car on a small dirt track from my cousin, who raced in it before teaching me to drive. When I got it, it had the used, more or less stock 2.8L SOHC I6 pulled from another Supra, as it was more tame than the engine he raced with. The body was in one peice, but scratched and dinged to hell all along the bottom. Ahhh... *sighs* I kinda miss that car. =)
93 mazda 626...which in turn fell victim to a excessive breath of nitrous.
...so did the 92 pontiac sunbird that followed it..
but at least i didn't pay more than 1,000$ for these cars..it was the 626 that started all my FS-DE hating..haha.

another VW guy here... a very used 1981 Fuel Injected VW Rabbit. Got it as a graduation present from my folks for having a 3.9gpa when graduating from high school. It cost them a whopping $375! 
Drove it for a couple years and sold it to a friend. When it got above 90 degrees the pos would go into vapor lock and stall out. We called it Ice Cream time. When it does we started walking to find ice cream and when we got back it would always start right back up. It had 280K miles on it when I sold it to my buddy. He drove it til he totaled it at 320k miles. Still to this day looking for a great deal on an' 84-85 GTi. Anyvody have one they want to sell?
