What the F is going on!

I relize that this car is worthless to sell that why i decided to keep it forever. I love every aspect of my MP3. i could never sell it for what it is worth, like most people have said they have dropped in value by almost 1/2. I figure i will buy a new car in the next 3-4 years and by then the mp3 will be totally worthless, so why even bother selling it. My MP3 has had some problems, but this car has become a part of me. All in all in is still a cheap import, but i love the fact it is so rare and so good looking. I do agree with big ben buy a german car, you cant go wrong the quality isnt comparable. My dream car has always been a Blue audi S4, some times im pissed because if i would have shopped around i might have been able to buy a 99 s4 for a liltle more then i payed for my mp3.

Whoa, Ben. Take a breath, there buddy. The Fords and Porsches are made of parts that Ford and Porsche engineer (even if they are farmed out to companies like Brembo, Eaton, and the like) and I'm sure your mature eyes noticed the price difference. So, yes, please keep going because you still haven't given me an example of a "bust-ass AFTERMARKET suspension that came standard." I see no Neuspeed GTIs for sale at the dealerships in this country. No Mugen Civics, here. ...and Racing Beat ain't exactly AMG.

Note to serial complainers: Your car cost less than $18,000 (or thats what you should have paid). Don't you think your expectations are a little high? Buy an IS and, surprise, you'll get $10,000 more worth of car.

The rules were the same before you bought your MP3 as they are today. If you and your Big Ben Brain knew all of this before I "laid the knowledge on you" then I guess in order to be happy you should have made a better decision.

Ben, not that, at this point, you care but I wasn't targeting you in particular and I've been on this site long enough to know that you are not a "kid." But aren't you all tired of complaining? You're a self-professed Protege Junkie, right? Either stop complaining about the product or move to another Cartel. It sure takes a lot of energy to complain. Just do yourselves (and me) a favor: Dump the cars and move on.

Mr. Genie, I just want every one who doesn't like their cars to please get rid of them. <pause> Sha-zam!

Newf, that doesn't mean you! You can't leave. If you left, I wouldn't have half the info I have to use in my part time job as a professional "Make My Dealer Look Like an Ass About Their Own Product" artist.

Hmmmm. Could be a coincidence, though. Maybe the Suspension Fairy came to put some urethanes on it. If it works, send Mazda the bill and send her over to Bel Air.

he's getting or has the MSP so he isn't going anywhere and he will still have the clunk!

i wouldn't be holding anyone's breath for a fix for the bushings...they'll side step this until the cars just die of old age...
Ben, I'm with you all the way...I think I may end up going the lease route...and for you haters, I do like my MP3 [A LOT], when it works, which is 40% of the time if I'm lucky (suspension I feel is a key and most prominent feature, as soon as the clunk starts, it is not working properly, so I don't count that as working properly)

I never complained about my MP3. I still love the car. But I don't love it enough to keep wasting my money on cheap imports. The MP3 will be my last cheap car. From now on I'm going with German quality and performance. Appler, I have never complained about Mazda or the MP3. All I said was that the MP3 was just a lightly modified cheap car. And I was ok with that when I bought it. But now I'm in a good enough financial stability where I can spend a little more money. And I'm going to do that. Why does that make you think I'm complaining? And the Porsche has just about the best suspension that any factory car has. I really hope you don't think Neuspeed is as good as Porsche engineered products. It's not even in the same catagory.

Ben, that's my point. I wasn't picking on you or singling you out. Nowhere does my first post say "Big Ben." There's no argument against your logic as to the superiority of either German engineering (though some Jetta owner's may take exception but that could be because of their Mexican origin) or just getting a better (read: pricier) car. The Mazda is an outstanding car FOR THE MONEY and most of us know this.

However, there are some around here who will never be satisfied because they have Dom Perignon taste, Busch Light money, and don't see the conflict. And there are some around here who are bored after two yeares and are trying to justify their natural want for something different and newer. It's THOSE people I so want to just lighten up.

Make no mistake, I've got a G35 in my sights and I'm jumping the minute I get the chance. But I love my car and I won't be reduced to trashing it every post. And lately there's more people hating than loving. I don't broadcast my mods or my number of visits to the dealer...hell I don't even post that often but I will come to the car's 9not Mazda's) defense. Ben, sorry if you felt caught in the cross fire.

And I never suggested Neuspeed is as good as Porsche. I clearly stated that this car continues to be the first aftermarket suspension that came stock and I stick by that. Porsche does it's own engineering and Mazda chose to outsource. Of course it's not as good as a Porsche (though it is faster through the slalom than a Boxter) and, hell, it's not even as good as the old Integra R. But it IS the first aftermarket suspension that came stock. ...well, perhaps I should ammend that statement because if it was completely aftermarket, they would have done what Racing Beat asked and we would have had less problems. So I'll say it was the first aftermarket collaborative-suspension. No Neuspeed/VW collaborations. No Honda/Mugen collaberations. We're the first and, with being the first, like Fear Factor, always comes problems.

oh, one more thing (positive) I got my swaybar fixed again today, with the "new fix" (molecular tape and polyurethane bushings accdg to Mazda) and the car feels unbelieveable...completely different, and better car...lets cross our fingers and hope this is the fix...(I know it hasn't worked for newf, but I'm a few hundred miles south of him, thus a few degrees warmer :) so we've got a chance of it working)

mmmmmmmm....G35.....me likey, me wants :) That will be the next ride for me my friends...one with a few thousand miles on it already though... :)

Must be a dealer idea, he posted before Newf made his annoucment.

nope, Mazda's Fix, the "QA Dept @ MNAO"(HA!) in response to my letter called my dealer and told them what to do and with what parts...the dealer had to go and get parts from a GM dealer (if that doesn't make you squirm, I don't know what will)!!! My service mgr is cool and filled me in on all the stuff they had to buy to try this new fix...strange part...I think I still hear the noise, though it does FEEL much much better...we'll see how long that lasts...I can't wait to show Newfs post to my dealer so that he may be able to help me get the same thing rolling in the states...
I'm heading back next week to have my stereo replaced, so I'll talk about it with him then...
Cross our fingers :)

I actually talked to the mechanic that has worked on my car each time...he felt bad and started to explain that its not anything that he's doing or not doing...I reassured him, I knew it was a design flaw, and I appreciate his work. Really nice guy who knows whats up.

if you all want to talk about a mazda design flaw ... i got the best one for you yet that i dont think has been discussed ... ok .. anyone that has an Mp5 may expiriance this problem ... if you completely fold down your rear seats and drive down the road you better not EVER put both your rear windows down if you are going above 30 MPH since you will blow out your back hatch window... has anyone ever heard an insaine bass note from subs and that super low tone that vibrates and shakes the car and you can feel the air flow moving in and out of the car .. well that is exactly what happens when you do that .. to the point where my rear window almost blew out ..i had to race to get the windos up and slow down imedeatly and i tested it like 4-5 times and it does it every time ...now that is a messed up flaw

Same with the sedans bro.
Thats just part of the weird ass resonance I hit wiht a sub box once.
Weirdest s*** you've ever heard!

scott42!

Are you sure they have urethane bushings on your car? Or are they just using the latest release, and some tape?

Well Since so many people are ditching there MP3 I am more and more wanting to keep mine.
Mybe its just that i don't like anything else out there that has a reasonable price but I find it hard to give up on the car.
