What size exhaust?

Alright I need some help guys and gals.

Im getting ready to get my new exhaust and want to know which will benifit me more power wise. Right now I have a 2.25" exhust from the downpipe back. I have a t3 turbo, 2.5" downpipe, fmic, all the good stuff. Im planning on having internals within the next few months and want to know if i should go with 3" or 2.5". Right now Im at 8 1/2 psi and am planning on 15 or more when built. If I go with 3" now, would it be and overkill and hurt my performance. One of my buddies is telling me that 3" is too much for my setup.

Im going to go with this muffler, for that more stealthy look.

For the people that have voted ( All 10 of you). Can you explain to go with which size and why?

If you're going to do it, go bigger so if you up the boost you will have the larger exhaust already to help flow. You don't want to go all out and end up regreating having gone to a 2.5" vs. a 3" later. You can get a non stainless setup done pretty cheap compared to stainless.

Sorry, ive wanted that muffler for the longest time. So im getting it.

i say 3 because of the ability to flow better if and when the turbo consumes you, you won't be getting held back power wise and allows your turbo to spool in good time.
