leg humpers abound, goddamn...

i say paint it all or polish it all.

not me :)

but yea id not leave it. looks like u got some soot on it

i found it easier to remove the o2 sensor and try to finagle it out. but if u cant u have to remove the turbo pipe. drive it around for a bit and get it hot. then itll come off the turbo easier. just loosen the smic side and u can just twist it up temporarily.

ill try removing the O2 sensor, i like that idea much better!

Paint it black, but polish the hell out of the MazdaSpeed logo and the hot symbol. That's what I'd do...

now that would be hot but one big pain in the ass!

what is the best and most efficient way to remove the paint that is on the heatshield? product name would be best and most helpful....

Oh when I use to keep it polished I use Eagle One "Never Dull". It works great but u need a hell of alot of elbow grease.

do you have any suggestions on how to do this? i purchased the paint today (1200 degree paint) i plan on painting the heatshield THIS weekend....i was thinking maybe paint the whole heatshield and figure out a way to remove and polish the mazdaspeed logo....any ideas about doing that???

I'm no expert, but here's how I'd do it:

Tape it off so just the letters were showing (I dunno if you want to do just the tops, or the whole letters , wet sand off the letters w/ fine grit sandpaper, then polish the hell out of it. Like I said, I'm no expert in these matters, but you may want to PM Brian MP5T, I think he'd be able to give u much better info (he did the same sorta thing w/ the valve cover on his P5, and his new "project".

i think im just gonna be blah and paint the whole entire heatshield....already put coat number one on...now im letting it dry then paint, then dry....

haha, ok. I don't really blame u lol. I'm repainting my auto-x wheels over the winter, and it's gonna be a b**** lol

yes, i saw them thanks and by the way, they look kick ass!! ill post pics of mine when i put it on....also, how did you put it back on? remove the O2 sensor? remove the IC pipe at the bottom, top?? thanks
