what should I do?

Alright...I know this has been discussed for a long time...but still can't make decision...:P
I have my p5 for one week and put almost 500 miles on it...I already bought a k&n drop-in air filter online..and I am considering to get a short shift...probably the kartboy with bushings...

couple questions..
1. since the linkage at "how-to" forum is not working properly...I can't see the pics, I am kinda worry about if I can install the short shift myself...does anyone has other instruction? or any suggestions?

2. Can I install the short shift and bushings right after I get them? I mean the car has only less than 1000 miles...should I install them after the "break-in" period?

3. Again, should I change the oil at 1000 miles? or I should wait for a while till 3000 miles? Any difference? I remembered some one mentioned that..but still can't find a clear answer.

4. Last, any suggestions for the shift knob? The one on the car is wrapped with leather and I felt it's kinda too "fat"..:P But, here in southern California, I don't think I will replace it to a metal one...:D...Did some researches, but can't find one I like...

I think these are the things I am going to do with the car so far..
any suggestions and comments are welcomed....

jason....

there is no need to wait to change the shifter and the bushings....

YES you can do this on your own...its really not very dificult at all...you have the instructions....just not the pictures.

I personally do not believe there is any NEED to change the oil at 1000 miles....just do it at the 3000 mile mark.

Shift knobs....use your favorite search engine and put in shift knobs...you will get more hits than you can possibly look at....a lot of them will have the same thing....there are places you can have a custom one made too....and its not that expensive either...explore....do something DIFFERENT!
