What octane do you put in your cars?

We use 87 in our P5, imo unless you have a reprogrammed ECM higher octane is a waste of money. My wife drives at least 50 miles to work, thats round trip. We got gas last nite and on an almost empty tank she got 344.9 miles out of it, thats driving btw 70 and 80mph, not to mention side trips she does for her job and with the AC on.

Ever beat a dead horse with a stick? Well you have now. I drive my car 100km everyday, same route, everyday, I could do it with my eyes closed. What i am saying is I have tested out different octane fuels on this same route a bazzillion times. 92 gives me better mileage...I mean like 50-75 more KM per tank. Over 5000 RPM there is more power to red line...the variables have been tested in several cars on the same route all with different results. Yes I am taking this back to the grade 6 science fair.

It doesn't matter what your theory is, I have done a real test and these are my results. Not saying it will work for every P5 owner but since I drive my car soooo much I notice every little mild change that occurs including tiny increases in power.

'I copy that! Even as they all say the exact opposite as I, I see no good reasons to stick with ~87. On 91 my engine IS smoother, rev quicker, is quieter AND some better mileage. i don't drive constantly all the way at the same speed, im a contextual driver who will use most opportunities to reach my destination faster. So milleage is not a constant variable for me. I got my tests done. Honnest, I would have been happy to go with the 87. This would mean more MONEY is my pocket. But I do use 91 because I found it is better, overall better. (2thumbs)
