What octane do you put in your cars?

110 race grade... im my dreams, but 83 in real life, im in canada so octane rating may be diffrent

Previous thread on this but the manual says 87 that's what I use. It's not a high compression engine so you don't need high octane (unless you stick a turbo on it). 93 would be a waste of $ (especially if you live in Cali....yow!!)

87. No point in using higher grade. In my other cars I used 93-104, but one was turbo w/15+ psi and the other had the timing bumped to 18* static.

I use the regular unleaded (87). I don't have turbo so there's no use in using anything higher.

Using the "premium" unleaded with a higher octane rating doesn't give you any gains - it just means that the fuel burns at a higher temperature. In fact, it can even be damaging to your engine in the long run if you use an octane rating higher than what's recommended...plus it's money that could be spent on other things. (I.e. new exhaust, CAI, etc.)

I know this is the P5 section and I own a sedan, but I put in regular unleaded. No need for anything else since I haven't any performance mods.

87, anything higher without higher compression or turbo will result in carbon deposits fouling spark plugs, cylinder walls, etc.
