Also, how safe is it on your engine to be running that 12psi?
--michael
Well the king of all boost on a stock MSP is Joe at 21PSI!
This was on colder plugs, 116 octane and his wealth of tuning knowledge. With colder plugs in cooler weather I think 12PSi should be fine right now in the heat I have driven on 13 and had no problems. However, I only feel totally safe at 10-12PSI.

Joe is the man to ask about high boost stock MSP's he is a MADMAN! His nick is kwiktsi.

Yo, adrenalin112, I LOVE YOU!!!!! It's great to see a guy in a good car givin' us MSP owners props. And you right, the MSP does the slalom at the same speed as the Porsche 911 or Carrera or something non-turbo like that at 70 something MPH, and for the price an SRT-4 or STI has to pay to get that handling, we could be riding on a t3 or huge engine mods, kicking ass!!!!

Double Bastard??? Not a real beer. Just like you, not a real man. Why dont you come back later, after you tame the canyons...
--Adam

You did the same as me! I went to the dealer to buy a 6s and ended up with my MSP...funny!

Same here. I went to the dealership with $500 for a downpayment on the 6S, then I saw the MSP sittin in the showroom and and a few days later I was drivin her home

DOUBLE BASTARD? Ha! Is quite real. 10% ABV. It will knock your dick in the dirt, if you aren't used to Big Beers.

Is that a double bock? I've heard of their barleywine before, too...the only one that I've tried is the Bigfoot Barleywine, though. Kinda a weird thing...If you want something fancy for the Lady I suggest Kriek or Framboise Lambics...very tasty and extremely drinkable. 9$ for 750ml around here (and that's a good price!) Also...for you, try to find the Sam Adams Triple Bock or Millenium ale...you may have to get it cold shipped and buy through auction since it's special. But you seem like the kind of connoisseur. Double Bastard might be considered a double bock. Stone Brewery brews some wonderful beers - no question. I'm not a big fan of lambics, but I do like Chimay, and some of the other Belgiun beers.
I love Barleywine Ales. Bigfoot is excellent. I have 3 cases at home, going back to 1999. It ages well.

I had 6 bottles of Triple Bock,,,

,,,,and 3 bottles of Sam Adams Utopias. Here's 2 of them.. (over $200 per bottle)

edit:sorry for all the smilies...but educated beer drinkers will understand...

yo ive only heard fabled stories of the utopias. I hear that it tastes like a brandy. & wouldnt u consider double bastard more of an IPA? i forget sometime, ive drank so many beers.
Lambic = eck!
I used to consider belguim as the true land of beer until i took a trip to portland, san fran & seattle. Teh best beer definitely comes from the pacific NW. Lagunitas, bridgeport, marin, hale, hair of the dog, & many more come from that region. maybe this post belongs on www.ratebeer.com
btw greg have u ever had anything from 3 floyd's brewing? they're based in IL & they're only available in the midwest... :(

But yeah to keep this on topic... msp's rule the school :)

Oh yeah!! Well........... I have had many of these breweries on the Brewline America Radio Show I used to co-host on AM790 WMC in Memphis. We interviewed via toll free phone line. Hair of the Dog Brewery is owned by Alan Sprints. He came to me to be interviewed on the show. His beers are incredible! I had Sierra Nevada on the show 4 times, Rogue Brewery, Anchor, Goose Island (Chicago), and yes; Three Floyds Brewing in Munster, Indiana. Ummmm; Portland Brewing Company, Boulevard Brewing (Kansas City, KS), Cave Creek (Black Mountain brewing) Chili Beer's Scott Chilleen, etc.....etc..... Oh; Full Sail Brewing (Portland, OR) - great beers! They would send us beers to taste during the show. It was sweet! Flying Dog Brewing; nice beers, and New Belgium Brewing (CO). A lot of really cool interviews, indeed.

It depends on which Lambic you get. You get a real one and it's great...you get a knock-off like Sam A's, fuggedaboudit... Lindeman's (the one that I've had) is really quite good. Besides...I can't drink beer like I used to. I gives me an upset stomach after 2-3 fairly light beers (Killian's, Sam Smith Nut Brown, etc.) I think I'm allergic to the something in them...not the alcohol, though. If I have a hard drink after the beers my stomach settles down. Lately it's been Twisted Teas for me, just to keep cool! Even then, though, I'm on Atkins, so...also, tastings.com has a bunch of beers, wines, etc rated.

Anywho...you guys see the SVT owner coming on here and being civil? I think we're getting popular!

I actually was lucky enough to have some Sam Adams Utopias, because a friend who bought some when I bought my 3 bottles opened one of his. I re-sold mine when I got into RC cars (which I have since sold). It was an incredible beer. It's aged in Scotch, Cognac, and other casks. It falls into the Barleywine category since it is 27% abv. It should be enjoyed in a snifter as any Barleywine or Cognac. It was available in only 14 states.

(correction from earlier post) Utopias not Millenium Ale:: I was never able to get any Sam Adams Millenium Ale. Although only 3,000 bottles of Utopias exist, Sam Adams brewed less of the Millenium Ale.

SVT... bah!!!

stinkin jerk in a '03 svt cobra covt smoked me last month. I want one :(

Although if i ever bought a truck it would definitely be the lightning. Back in 99 i was pretty impressed by the svt countour, that thing was a blast to drive compared to the eclipse gt (which appeared equal to it on paper). But the interior was quite plain jane. Then theres the focus... hmm... doesnt the market have enough cars just like it? Let's see 6spd hatch, all motor w/~180hp. civic si, celica gts, rsx... oh yeah its american that makes it soooo different. bleh!

why are u wasting your time with that kind of competition?
I drive a wrx & am always on those forums. wrx's may be elitest but most of us are very aware of how potent the msp can be. Teh msp own3d the wrx in handling. With just a few mods the msp can kick an srt-4's ass in a straight line, mainly due to the tochigi somethin or other LSD. Go after those evo's, S4's, & rx7's on the autoX. While others go ahead & prep yours to be a dialy drivin 12second msp.

your not a very smart wrx owner...... comparing a modded car vs a stock car..right..put stickier tires on an srt-4 and that stock 1/4 of 14.2 dropps into the high 13's, intake, mopar stage 1, your lookin at least mid 13's...the lsd does help...but not as much as you seem to think...go after evos..s4's, rx7's in autox and you'll get smoked....daily drivin 12sec msp....why? do you have any idea how much money that'd cost?

edit: i want to make it clear...i am not trying to bash the msp in any way. but im trying to be realistic..it is prolly a great car..fun to drive,,awesome handling..but it doesnt stand a chance against the other cars mentioned..go ahead and flame if you wish..but im honestly not trying to start any fights. cool evo vid.

im not a very smart wrx owner... that may be but your name is apexi (makes me think of RICE, long grain style). heh heh

But anyways, the most wonderful thing about the msp is its versatility. It CAN hold its own in both drag & autoX very easily. I would suggest driving the car & reading up on the latest articles of the msp. And, no a 12sec msp isnt going to break the bank. With an upgraded turbo, larger intercooler, fpr, boost contoller, exhaust, intake, & nos (Yes, i said NOS) 12s shouldnt be that far away. The reason i suggest NOS is that drag racing is such a primiive & single purpose sport u might as well use the juice for that performance aspect.

Sure u may not be a 12 second machine on the autoX, but this is such a complex sport that handling & driving skill are the key components. U may not believe it but the msp does have MUCH better handling than a S4 (even the body rollin wrx is better than the S4). As for the rx7, it will definitely be a bigger challenge. But hey that was a $35K car, put the cash difference into the msp & things would get very interesting.
