What is wrong with my car?

Lately something near my pedals has been making a strange noise. It sounds almost like the pedal is being rattled back and forth. I notice this sound immediately after coming to a stop. Like something is rocking back and forth or some diaphragm is popping in and out? Also when I take off, engaging the clutch, I get some shaking and noise through the pedal when it is half engaged.
Do I need a new clutch, lsd, tranny mounts, or what?

I have three motor mounts, front, back and driver's side. I was having some idling problems for months which would make the car shake a lot at times. I'm wondering if all that shaking broke something. I'm going to check on these mounts and see how they look when I get a chance.

me too

dude i am getting the same thing but i only have like one motor mount on right now
i get that noise when i take off on like first gear it's getting worse too

bump please (confused)

When I had only replaced my front motor mount I got a clunking sound because the rear mount was too soft or something, so I ended up replacing the rear as well (so now the car shakes ALL the time lol, but no more clunk).

You still got stock motor mounts front and rear?

You don't have the fourth one in??
Well, I mean I have 4 motor mounts, but 3 are stiffer than stock. Front is AWR manual trans. Rear and driver's side are NSN filled mounts. Pass. side is stock.

LOL that's what I figured...but around here you really have to ask hah.

The shaking and noise through the clutch could just very well be from the stiffer mounts.

Well, I've had them for a while, and this is only a very recent problem. I'm guessing my rear mount broke or somehting. I'll have to check it after work. I saw a pic of someone with a broken rear mount. The rubber wasn't just busted, the whole metal housing had cracked in two and came apart.

It's been more difficult to shift lately too.

ok, does someone have a pic of a normal driver's side mount? Mine is looking real ****** up right now. I can't remember how a normal one looks.

(help) I can't tell what is going on with this mount, the filler has popped out I guess, but I think the bolt might have come loose also, it's hard for me to tell how it's suppoosed to be without removing it right now. I don't know if I need to replace the whole mount or just tighten it up or something.

You are probably on the right track. But I just gotta chime in because I haven't said anytihng in a few days.

I had the exact same problem and it drove me nuts for weeks. Finally, I figured out that my hard pipes were rattling against the Master Brake Cylinder. Basically for whatever reason, if something is striking that cylinder, it will resonate throughout the pedals.

This probably doesn't help:(

Dude, you rock. Hit the nail on the head. Sorry to say I didn't believe you at first. I went out to inspect my motor mounts more closely, nothing catastrophic, they were all bolted in securely, and not cracked or broken. The side one I was worried about, well the filler that Turfburn put in there is coming out, but the stock core is in tact, so I'm leaving it for now. Once I realized my motor mounts were fine, I looked at my hardpipe, and sure enough it was just like a milimeter away from the master brake cylinder.
I even read about people having this problem before, but for some reason I didn't think it was happening to me. (braindead
The noise kinda tricked me, didn't sound like it was coming from where it really was.

Thanks for the help.
