What is this throttle body hose?

Protege
I'm a rather amateur home mechanic. Today in below zero weather my car (1999 Mazda Protege 1.6) had trouble starting and I noticed under the hood that the hose seen in the attached picture had completely cracked through. It's attached to the throttle body and it looks rather easy to replace. I just don't know what it is exactly so I can't order the replacement. Could I just order a generic fuel injection hose and cut it to size? Any help would be great. Thank you!

Rockbird,

Looks like the vacuum hose for the power brake booster. A crack would let un-metered air bypass the
MAF sensor and throw your fuel/air ratio off; should also reduce the power assist on the brakes.

A generic hose might work if you can get it to fit, but the OEM hose isn't too pricey from Panama City or Jim Ellis Mazda.

Check with a local dealer & see what they want for it, or order it from one of these dealers. I've
ordered from Panama City before and they are pretty quick, not sure how they are over the holidays.

Hope this helps
