What is making this noise? Mazda3 Video

Okay. I'll try to make this long story as short as I can.

I have had my car for 17 months and 20,000 miles. It has always had a teeny tiny belt squeaky-ish noise when it rained or got wet/humid outside. Eventually, the noise became louder, more persistent, and stuck around for a couple of days even after the rain/wetness outside had stopped.

I traced it to a hole in the splash guard, near the A/C compressor. Some water had been getting in there. I patched the hole, sealed it up, and went about my way. Drove through several puddles, snow remnants, etc. and no more squeaking. HOWEVER, the squeak soon became evident that it was still there. Instead of being a result of wetness, it now seemed to be a result of sitting and a cold start. Each cold start in the morning on these chilly winter days produced the squeak again, but it would quickly disappear once the car ran for about ten minutes.

I changed the serpentine belt tensioner pulley ("idle pulley"), and the squeak became almost unnoticeable to some, but still there. Now, the squeak is faint and only apparent for about sixty seconds after the first start of the day. Each subsequent start, even ones where the engine has totally cooled down again (like when the car sits while I'm at work), do NOT produce the noise again. It is there for the first minute the car runs during the day, and never again. Turning the A/C on and making the compressor work does not change the noise, nor does turning the A/C off. Also, the noise changes speed with engine speed. Faster revs, faster noise, and vice versa. The A/C compressor works as it should, the car starts and runs as it should, and there are no other unusual noises.

My serpentine belt isn't exactly in A-1 condition, as it now has some age on it. But it's nowhere near about to break. It's been looked over by me and three other people. There's some wear, but nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Here's the video with the noise at a cold start:

Am I crazy or is there something freaking wrong? The nearest Mazda dealer is sixty miles away and I don't know/trust anyone to work on my car in this dumb college town, so that's a minor issue. I'm just really paranoid and afraid something, somewhere on my car is broken. I worry about it all the time. I trust my car, but I'm afraid I'm ignoring something wrong and it is really stressing me out.

And yes, I'm crazy.

I have about 50,000 on my car and it sounds like that, and it always has when cold. I didn't hear anything abnormal.

Sounds like normal engine noises to me too. Certainly nothing to get worked up about... if any of your accessory drives or pulleys were ready to fail, it would be a lot louder than that. I suppose it's possible that your serpentine belt may be a bit on the tight side--could try loosening it a hair to see if anything changes.

Hmm. I was thinking maybe the belt was too loose and tried to tighten it the other day. The squeal-ish type deal seems to be louder in person and on the phone as opposed to on here. I don't know.

Agreed with the guys above. My 09 sounds like that before it is fully warm as well. You can hear it echo off walls and other cars sometimes if I stop at a light. When the car is fully warmed it goes away though.

Got both my serpentine belt and the a/c belt replaced. So, altogether, I have a fixed splash guard hole, a new tensioner, and two new belts. I had the shop (Dr. Zoom in Louisville) check all of the pulleys as well.

I just went out and started the car. No more squeaking! And it's even wet and misty outside, too. Of course my Speed 3 exhaust was loud as hell, but other than that, she was quiet as a mouse.
