Top mount intercooler upgrade.

Thanks man!!!, so does it really give a good increase, i heard with more intercooler you get less affective boost? but i dont know if thats true

It gives significant additional shove. It has two effects:

1) Cooling the air charge more means more molecules of oxygen will fit into the cylinder each stroke. Add fuel to match - more power!

2) Less restrictive air flow means less pressure drop across the IC. Same result, added to the first one.

i have a customer returning his new uninstalled one if anyone is looking for a nice price on it. pm me!

Do we really need a bigger IC for our stock turbos? A bigger IC will also add more lag as it has more pressure to build up. I'm already sick of flooring the gas and waiting for the turbo to spool don't really want any more lag :( Maybe if you get a bigger turbo I could see upgrading being worth it.

I'm new at turbos so please enlighten me if I'm off track :)

Do you need it? No. Does it make the car run better? Yes.

If you are experiencing "flooring the gas and waiting for the turbo to spool", try keeping your RPMs higher. This engine doesn't do much below 3000 RPM so you may just be waiting for it to come into the sweet range of 3000 to 5500. If you are just cruising, drop it down a gear before flooring it.

It isn't major or anything but for example:

Highway driving with moderate traffic. Some jerk cuts in front of you, you decelerate but stay in gear, he moves out of your way to you go to pass and you count 1...2...boost.

I guess down shifting would solve that but I imagine bigger IC and you get 1...2...3...boost.

Like I said i'm still new to boost so maybe I need to re-learn how to drive boosted :)

Try the downshift and let us know.
In my case the bigger cooler makes not difference to turbo lag which is almost imperceptable with or without the new cooler as long as you are in the rev range.
