What is a resonator and how do i take it out?

Does it do anything for gain in hp or throttle response?

if you are talking about the one in your exhaust system...it helps quieten down the system.....just crawl under your car about where the front door is....look up right behind where your shifter is....you will see the exhaust pipe widen out there....almost looks like a cherry bomb muffler in the system...that is your resonator.

A resonator removes the resonation from your motor.. it's like a tinny sound... high pitch kind of thing.... You need to get it removed froma muffler shop and get it replaced with a straigh pipe instead...
