What is a good 2nd job?

a couple of people mentioned valet.....I actually used to do that (thats when I learned to drive stick (lol2) ) the only problem is im really tall (and fat) so I have trouble just hopping into whatever car happens to pull up. Definitely made great tips doing that, and drove soem nice cars too

on a similar note, its funny that most of the people who have seen me (people from nepoc) are suggesting bouncer :)

Actually Home Depot pays pretty well, but guess that depends on what you are looking for money wise. Their cashiers in this area were starting at 10-12hr, the sales floor was actually alittle less with no experiance but went up with more experiance. Warning though they work you hard!! There is always something to do either helping the mind dead customers (hey where are the light bulbs.....ahh that big 40 foot section behind you), or putting up freight since it comes in everyday and there is no store room.

stay away from retail man! can you leverage you proffessional skills? maybe do some consulting work?? small business are always looking for someone to help in the IT area?? try and do something on your own.

I was kind of hoping for retail....something a little bit mindless where I can meet and interact with people. Where I work now there is no one my age, no one single, and no one without kids...that and I dont really have the motivation to do consulting on my own. The whole interacting professionaly with clients thing makes it seem a lot more like work than a casual retail type job...but then i guess thats why it pays more....

Haha, exactly!!

Probably the worst choice thus far... but since all my 'good' ideas have already been said, I'll put it out there. You could go work for UPS/FedEx and load/unload trucks. I did that all through college... BRUTAL work! You'll work your ass off along side some very 'interesting' people. Even with that said, you'll feel pretty good at the end of your shift... definitely won't need to hit the gym! As far as pay goes... a few years back I was getting $12/hour up in Willington. Pretty bad pay but hey.. it aint rocket science!

But yeah... like I said. Don't consider that option. Not with the holidays coming up. I know guys who work at places like Circuit City and make an absolute KILLING during the holidays. Combine that with the discount you'll get (use it to buy gifts and you won't feel guilty about spending the money you're making) and... well, let's just say you've got my wheels churning now too! I don't know s*** about retail but... how hard can it really be?

If all else fails... 2 words: male gigalo

funny you should mention that, I worked at fedex in willington for a little bit too
are there any hubs in meriden/wallingford though?

maybe circuit city is worth looking into.....maybe....

there's a DHL terminal in Wallingford. (pretty small compared to Willington) UPS has a HUGE terminal in North Haven. (only a couple towns away from meriden) Circuit City on the other hand is a pretty quick drive into Newington (berlin turnpike) Best Buy's across the street so you may wanna check there.

ya, chris is pretty dull! oh,oh....you said dell!!!!!!!!

ya, i'd go with bouncer too! it's mindless and you get to meet a ton of people!!
