What have you done to your P5 today?

hey does anyone know what to do to replace the lights behind the temperature control on the dash?

mine just went out last weekend and its really annoying when i cant see that stuff

Take the 2 screws out of the trim around the cluster. Pull the trim out. Take the 3 screws out of the cluster. Unplug the 3 harrnesses and take it out you access the bulbs from the back.

no I didn't, but I might roll my rears incase I get a wider tire next time around. I don't rub anywhere anymore with my Eibachs. The only thing I rub is my front lip on the road lol.

yeah, callie's rubbing real bad in the rear, cause there are always people in the back

And she's on 215/45/17's and I dont' know what the offset on the wheels she's on now are, but it rubs pretty bad

And mine does when people are in it.

I run 205/45/17's and they just barely tuck under the rears. I put 3 people in my back seat and the whole wheel disapears inside the wheel well. The guy that matched tires to my rims definately gets props! I told him give me something that wont rub when I lower and he did just that. BUT the lip on my rims stick out further than my sidewalls which means curb rash really easy. I would like to go to a 215 but im sure I'll need atleast the rears rolled for that.

she WAS on 205's, but, just what you said, the rim lip stuck further out, so i went with 215's

So, fender rolling it is

Magnaflow probably won't get much louder than it is. That's the beauty of it. If you want it to get louder, throw an OBX header on there and it REALLY comes to life.

with the obx headers, does it keep that nice low grumble?

It keeps a VERY nice low grumble.

My car sounded like a little monster with the OBX and Magnaflow combo (still had stock midpipe too)

OXB/Magnaflow combo is not ricey or raspy.

But, do you do highway travel with a female companion? Or companion of any sorts that won't let you put down the windows?

Cause between 65-80, i'm sure you have read, it will drone. My wife and I spent 45 minutes at 75 and both got home with serious headaches, but, she wouldn't let me put down the windows (it'da messed up her hair). lol

Yeah, i do warn people about the drone. LOTS

yeah i drive with the windows down or the music up 90% of the time so i dont think i would mind, obx headers are definantly my next mod.
do you know how it would sound with a highflow midpipe as well?

hmmm....oil temp kept rising on me today

Peaked around 240 on my way in. When idling at a light, oil temps would start to come down, but as soon as i was under way, right back up to 240

the highest i've peaked before was 225 or so. Kinda worried me, but if you say it's normal.......

The other thing DemonIam thought is the stupid cap on the 02 bung may have fallen out and exhaust gasses are being shot straight to the oil pan.

Gonna check that on my lunch break

That seems like it would be noisy if that bung fell out. I was wonderin if it runs hotter due to nearing oil change time. I know you don't let it get low, that's the only other thing off the top of head I could think would do that without other craziness going on............Finally got around to draggin my ass down to Loew's to get hardware to mount the wind splitter yesterday. Nope, no pics yet, was knockin out other non-car projects too. It even fits inside the oem bra for commuting purposes. Yeah, spare me, I know...but it keeps the freckle face away so the bra stays. It only comes off to style around the area without any highway cruisin after a wash/wax or for long weekends with no road trips. Grill trim / eyelid painting are next.

it's already got an exhaust leak. Midpipe doesn't seal up to the header.

i gotta shim the bolts so it can actually tighten down. Right now, the nut is as far as it'll go on the springbolt and it doesn't seal up. Gonna probably machine out 2 little stainless spacers, or add some washers

it's supposed to have some give to it, they're not supposed to be super tight. Hell, that's probably why you have a leak. The spring bolts take the place of a flex pipe that we don't have...
