What have you done to your P5 today?

whats the trick to getting the rear motor mount out... ive taken the intake mani off...but those two bolts towards the fire wall...man.. those fuckers are in there tight!!!

Did you look at the how-to...? I posted the trick for me to get those nuts off the firewall for the wiring harness bracket.

^^^ The trick is to give up and buy an insert. haha! I used an impact wrench and even 550lbs of torque couldn't budge one loose. But I'm in Ohio with rust so maybe you'll have better luck. Try letting them soak in PB Blaster over night and give them a twist in the morning. Good luck, mate!

try a really long breaker bar... worked just fine on my last two pros with the factory lock tight crap on it.

Yea that's the way to do it. Or take the sub frame off hahaha.

Wow... might as well go one step further and just remove the engine and trans...jk but thats still going to an extreme is you ask me and so it removing the IM to do it as well.

ya i looked at the how to...its how i got half way through!!

Got everything installed today thanks to jcell and flamsp... new street unit motor mount and port and polish vtcless intake mani...love everything


i now have a sls passenger mount...midevil front mm and SU rear mm... there are almost no vibes!!! I recommend the SU mount..

Willie's car is sounds real good,he gave me a ride in it yesterday very clean car and very well maintained, oh btw willie sometime when you have a when you are free i would like to take my front bumper off and would like to get the inside of my passanger side light cleaned and get a new clip to hold my hids in if you could help me sometime when you are free or have the time i will help you with your city light mod to if you want me to, because more hands you have the faster you get it done ,but not to fast to screw anything up lol
 
I have spent my third day in a row installing my car audio system. I have a build thread going. I hope to finally be completed tomorrow

impact wrench turned all the way up with the compressor and let it pound....i smushed a finger and almost took off the side of it with my fingernail before i busted out my airtools....also cut off those studs for the hose hanger just above it
 
****** DROVE from manhattan ks to Corpus christi in 14 hours.... *****

got 29 mpg with the car fully loaded down... not to bad i guess
 
changed oil, re welded IC pipes to fix leaks, changed TB gasket, and found out i have a decent sized boost leak by my BOV somehow...annndddd
I drove it, and took a right turn off the main road and all of a sudden there are these lights in my rear view, some honda was tailgating me
apparently he thought my car was slow lol well lets just say after 3rd gear he wasnt too close to me anymore

man i love my car now, it builds boost so smooth up to 5psi and then at 4k it just freaking haaauullssss up to 13-ish psi, i need to get some money for more mods :D
 
They are the same as stock. I figured I only drive in reverse 2% of the time, so the red reverse lights wouldn't be a big dea. lol

Get the turn overlays too, I always wanted to put them on my p5. Red turns are legal in the rear. Car looks ****** amazing btw, laser blue ftw.

My buddy's first car was a silver 2000 1.8 5speed with a borla catback, eibach springs and a rollbar. It was a blast, a damn go cart but it was TINY (i'm 6'3" 175), my knees were in my face and the styling is so feminine.
As far as performance, you can't compare proteges and miatas, they are very different cars with very different purposes. I drive a Mustang Bullitt as well that i take to the road coarse and I have no trouble keeping up with spec miatas. Considering those cars are modded to hell and the B has stock suspension, that's quite a feat, not to mention the weight disadvantage.

I don't hate Miatas, but we don't go on the miata board and talk s*** all day.

The to big thing I think is an excuse...I am 6'2" and 300lbs and fit very comfortable...
