What have you done to your MSP today?

And for the record my block has carillo h rods, wiseco pistons acl race bearings and arp head and main bolts. The head has way too much work to recall off the top of my head.
 
ah man. just got back from a little roadtrip up island and the car is SLOOOOOW. makes a lot of noise but i had trouble getting by kias lol. to the point i wonder why i even bothered boosting it to begin with heh.

i suppose it will get better when i drop a PCM in it. but still.... maybe i should just make it na again.

ill prob be going down this forged road next year if im lucky. but like horns i wont be spending money on labour or extreme things. just a forged set of pistons, rods, new bearings ect and a reconditioned block. the head prob wont get any work other than valve stems ect.
ive had plans for my msp since i got it, but ive had it almost 10 years now.. the longer i have it the less interested in it i become heh. especially with the canadian dollar right now.
 
I will be content just having forged internals, driving 1574 on 14psi has proven the cars make plenty of power once you crank the boost up. The peace of mind would be worth it, but I would eventually need to rebuild the trans too.


I spent $1500 on a built block and another $860 on a built head (as in built not rebuild head)..... currently they are both boxed and sitting in storage. My stock engine is still running strong.

Waste of some good parts! If you still have your car you should install the motor and keep it.

Starting to get used to the full corksport catless exhaust, I had the stock muffler on it to quiet it down but I swapped the CS muffler back on when the rods started knocking in 1345. That s*** is loud! I liked the CS muffler with the stock resonator better, it had a nicer tone and didn't drone whatsoever. Considering a silencer or going back to the stock muffler. Also got one 03.5 fog delete/lip insert so I installed it and robbed the driver's side insert off of 1345 for a little while since it's going to be a garage queen for the next few months.

I decided it was time for a lighting upgrade so I pulled out some spare headlights and a few projectors I had kicking around.

Funny you say that.... I'm currently parting out, and selling the car. I went out on a whim and got myself a legacy gt spec b with a forged engine.
 
That sucks man, there is no money in selling these cars any time soon. I'm gonna keep my collection as long as I can.
I do know a local buddy that is looking for a forged motor if you still have it, he has been talking to fattimotorworks to get that one from his spicy

And speaking of the collection, the Spicy that I really wanted that was at a local used car lot that sold is back at the lot again. The guy that bought it had a miata as well but I guess he wasn't satisfied with the car. I want to find out what is up with it.

Everything is stock on my msp excepts for exhaust, cai, and springs just to mention. :)

i have a twm short shifter and i love it. i used to drive long distances every weekend and it definitely helped me out.

I did the exact opposite. I installed a 3.5" extension and I love it.. It makes running through the gears a little faster (for me at least)
 
You will really want solid motor mounts for a short shifter. An upgraded clutch also helps. Can't really jam these boxes into gear. Have to let slot in gently.

Yes I forgot mention I upgraded motor mounts, except for the rear I have the oem part ready to be replaced just haven't got to it.
 
Fill your new oem with silicon. It isn't the same but better than stock. if you want that solid and smooth inout feel you would really need solid. And upgraded shifter bushings too.

Of course I don't have a twm to speak for buy the mounts and bushings made msp shifter pretty nice.
I have to find it in the p5 no matter what I put in there heh.

215km trans vs 130km though.

I still have the engine and built head. Talk to your friend and see if he is interested. I have a local buyer interested so I'll have to ask him first if he still wants it. I'm honestly tempted to keep the msp but I really can't afford to fund 2 projects.
 
I FINALLY got to test this car against something really close in power..

I've been wanting to race a 200hp VTEC for a while, but at meets, they see the turbo and get scared off.. most Honda dudes don't know MSPs, so they think we're sandbagging them when we say "170hp".

Anyways, I had a catless Integra playing around on the highway and I signaled to him to line em up.. He obliged and we gave them all they had and we stayed right next to each other the entire time. So that makes me kind of happy, since he was modded, now I think its safe to assume I am PROBABLY *just* over 200.

But thats on 6-7psi.. and I have this MBC in my hand that wants me to run 10 ;)
