What have you done to your MSP today?

our rods are more then capable of handling 10psi but any car cud go at any time even completely stock ones u jist never really know do u

fsde rods are sketchy on stock boost let alone 10psi...its been proven with as many that have blown up. the chances of the fsde blowing up vs those other engines are completely different just due to the rod construction.

tune and supporting mods makes also a big difference.. 505zoom have the record of Stock motor with just bolt ons.... 277whp with a gt28 turbo..

they do make a difference however how much stress do you think those rods are under? They are nothing but a ticking time bomb and i am pretty sure he knows that (unless he blew it up already i stopped checking) where as evo's, sti's, dsm's, srt4's ect can make that power without thinking twice about the rods or motor exploding

just keep in mind, Evos , Stis costs double of what the MSPs were. so.. we cannot compare them since they dont run in the same league..

I think he is saying there are exceptions, but with so many threads on here about this, 10psi with supporting mods and tunes is what is relatively safe for these motors/rods, sure you can run higher and maybe not blow them.. at least not for a little while but your really pushing it and gambling when you run it that high on stock internals, and for most people that don't have the money or stock build motors lying around, it's not "safe" or worth pushing it that much.. I think that is the general consensus on the forums from what I have read the last couple years..

I suppose, but pound for pound the msp won't keep up.

Of all the money you have spent, You'd be making 1,000awhp in an evo. lol

Im still on stock boost and I won't even touch a boost controller until I rebuild my motor and tune. Especially with all of the horror stories I have heard about blowing on stock boost and slightly increased boost like 8psi. I hardly ever see boost. My gauge might get up to the 0 and that's about it. Im just babying my car until I can afford to rebuild it. I would rather rebuild it and do it right and get it over with than to risk blowing with stock internals. Then, you have to seek a new block and get all the work done to it to get it to specs then rebuild it. It just seems like the best choice with these cars. Rebuild now instead of later when it could be to late. I wish I would have rebuilt the motor first instead of getting mods because now I could be modding on the built motor instead of modding first then saving up for a built motor. You can never really get the full potential out of mods anyway until you rebuild and tune for higher boost levels.

Sure but ANOTHER 1000AWHP EVO... Ive seen so many EVOs back in Miami with so many s**** on and so many different HP levels is already wack, Owning something barely people does feels better than being another from the bunch.. just my opinion..

thank you yes that is exactly what i mean....

n dug an msp isn't on the same leval as sti's or whatever but once they up their boost and trust me they do, they are in the same zone we are maybe in danger of blowin up..

i don't got n msp but i love my pro n i whomp on sti's evo's srt's all day it all depends on how much they done.. any car can be bad ass look at Mazdaspeed2oo35 that is one impressive ass msp

Also from what I understand one key factor is keeping the EGTs down which cause detention which can be a HUGE factor in our rods snaping.

exactly y i run meth

i wud much rather have my pro then one of those cars trust me the only pro close to mine is hundreds of miles away...

I hardly baby my car. I hit 7psi probably everyday. Im satisied with the power im putting down now. I would like to up the 9-10psi but i still need a few other things. I really wish that Mazda had done a better job on engineering our cars. But everytime i get behind the wheel i start smiling. Thats all i need i guess.

???? what u mean won't benefit i'm probky a good 80-100hp more then u still on a stock engine... i haveta say i'm benefitin and when i do build i won't haveta do s*** else but see those numbers go up even more

If our cars were in the same Price the others were trust me, Mazda would of done it. but we are talking about a 19k-20k car against others that double those digits...

only 32k??? hmm lemme see buy an msp for 4k spend another 4k and make it even faster then most evo's....

I choose msp lol

you coulda got a base model evo for a lot less with close, if not the same, amout of hp. I wanna say those were around 26 but I'm not sure.

Oh yeah, AWD > FWD lol
