What have you done to your MSP today?

So I washed it yesterday for the first time in months. Drove it in the wet bay at work, closed the door and proceeded to wash it. Started to dry my door jams and decided the hood / trunk / fuel door would be a good idea as well. So I start on the trunk and I hear this noise behind me that was so loud I honestly thought a car had rammed the wet bay door. I didn't see any cars nearby so I finished drying, hit the button to put the door up and nothing...

As my luck would have it, the maintenance guy had walked in just seconds before I was ready to leave and walked over to examine the door. He told me the spring had broken off completely because the owners are too stupid to know that if you cheap out on stuff like that, you will end up paying to get it fixed later anyway. (Our automatic doors break down ALL THE TIME because they were not built with quality parts) Needless to say I was ******* pissed. However there is 2 bays in the wet bay, so there are 2 doors. After moving a pile of car batteries, stacks of floor tiles, and a lift (often used by the guys that fix the doors) I was able to maneuver my car diagonally out the other door.

I have to say it looks pretty clean despite not being waxed in atleast 3 months and not being buffed atleast twice that amount of time.

Anybody know what belt to get to delete AC?

Not the big one...

But srsly, you can probably do power of deduction. Don't remove the timing belt or the one which connects to your alternator. That said, I don't know if the AC compressor is run off a belt with multiple accessories, so you might need to get a different size belt to not include it...

get a string and run it to the Power steering pump and back to the Harmonic balancer and then look up a belt that length in a catalog

thats the only way ive heard of people doing AC delete

What have I done to my MSP today? hmm lets see... was bumpin the sub n beat box to loud i guess and left headlight went kaapoot.. so replaced that.. yup thats about it for 2day.

Washed mine too... 2 weeks of road salt rinsed away!! Gonna get the crap all over it again tomorrow, but at least for tonight, Titanium Grey Metallic shines clean!

i cant remember the last time i washed mine. then again i cant remember the last time i drove it

alright, somebody help me out real quick.

ok, car needed a battery (before it needed, i have a check engine light on anyway)...

1. monday, bought a new battery and installed it
2. of course after the drive cycle, the cel came back on
3. its thursday night. i had the cel on going to work... 8hrs later i leave, turn it on. cel on still on right? of course. now im driving home from work... it. went. off. no more cel... during the drive, and now it idles way better coming to a stop, before it would be rough, to the point it would almost turn off but it would rev up to 1500 rpms on its own and come back down, repeat.

wtf just happened? did my car fix itself? i don't get it.

ECU may have learned something... mine was going on and off for a while as the EGR clogged up and my vac leak developed. without knowing the codes, hard to say what may have happened.

on top of that, my car idles sooooo much better. i was at a stop, best idle i had since having the cel.

used to be 1500 rpm, drop to almost it turning off, than revved back up to 1500 rpm... now its a nice idle.

maybe the egr spat something out, ionno.

Seriously, I don't mean to "get" like to get to, I mean get like to buy. I know where the AC is and which belt it is leading to it, just searching to see if anybody had a part number to make the buying part easier. Yes I need to buy a shorter belt.

Yeah, I was just looking for the easy route.
Buy the belt for the non ac proteges, there is also a how to on removing your ac
Thanks.
that How-to is basically "strip out all of the parts associated with AC"... no offense to the writer, but... duh? lol

I know, really.

That would be my guess... the EGR may have stuck open for a while due to being rusty or sludged up, and then worked loose and closed again.
