i need to drain my tranny and filler up w/ this GM Syncromesh ive got in the garage....

Off-hand, its been a while...can anyone tell me if the tranny needs to be cold or warmed up before draining?

I always get it slightly warmed up, just like motor oil so that it drains the best.

Might be prudent. In my case, my car was missing an engine so it limited my ability to do that. I just let it drain for like 5 hours...

get the refigerator/freezer baking soda boxes (the ones with the peel away sides) and stash them under ur seats to neutralize the ODOR... the more the less smellier..

I had to put one in my truck that I used to have - the person that owned it before me smoked, and even though the dealer detailed it, you could still smell the smoke scent.

I don't have the tools to take the lower bolts off dammit

replaced my tranny fluid w/ gm syncro....feels much smoother now...

also cleaned my k&n filter

i finially started the msp with no vacuum leaks or fuel spillage...for a straight week now ive been fixing little things that my brother forgot or just didnt know to connect with the intake mani swap. i had to re-thread both fuel rail mounting holes on the manifold and get some new o-rings for the injectors, got some universal ones in until the facotry ones come in. tomorrow im gonna hook the computer up to the afc and thats its..oh yea im running open s-pipe for now.

Got my car back together.. Hopefully it will run a little bit better now.. Oh and I officially hate Lucas.. Its hard as hell trying to get that s*** into a trans.. The s*** is thicker than molasses..

Is it actually an old-school proper type-s or is it the new crappy RS version? (Blue vs. Purple). If its the RS, ditch it and get a real BOV (HKS SSQV). The RS gave me nothing but problems, I broke two of them, and well they are complete crap.

If its actually a type-s you should be alright. They are quality. But the SSQV's still sound a bit better imho!

yea i made sure i didn't get the RS version. the type-s and the hks were my two choices and i found the type s for cheap. they rarely go on sale in the for sale section, i got real lucky.
