Ive had the urge to install my downpipe all week but didn't in the event I get a call to pick my son up from daycare since he has been sent home multiple times every week for being sick since he started daycare. But all week he has been fine. So, I decided to wake up earlier than usual and start working on the car. Had to get myself in "mod mode", put some music on in the garage and all. Jumped straight into it and removed oil feed and return lines, coolant lines, o2 sensor, hot pipe, line from WGA, EGR line and started removing bolts from the manifold flange. Just as I was halfway done with that and knowing there was nothing left but the nuts on the j pipe, what happens? I get a call from daycare that he is acting up and they don't know what to do. WTH!!! One of the best daycare/learning centers in the area and you don't know how to calm down one child. FML. Ended up putting everything back together to go pick him up. With the weekly fees we pay for him to go there, he spends more time at home than actually being there since he has been sick from other kids and them not knowing what to do when he acts up. With that being said, I won't be wasting anymore money on that place. I have also lost the little motivation I had to work on the car; even though Fedex just rang my doorbell as I was typing this. 626 injector seals are here. Sorry for the long post, just had to vent a little.

I have always heard/read that the first drive, after doing your preliminary drain, should be pretty hard.

agreed this is how i've broken in my last 2 motors. Decent short burst accelerations and hard engine braking. it's how i'll break in my next forged motor too.

Though it's totally logical, that goes against everything I've ever been told. **** IT! 7k in every gear up to 150!

I didn't see this mentioned but... idle it to temp and change oil before driving. Lots of engine braking NO BOOST!

you want your ring's to see boost during initial break. At least that's my belief everyone has different opinions when it comes to engine break in.

**** ALL OF YOUR THEORIES! I'm doing it the Preferio way! WOT on initial start, hold for 12 minutes, rev to redline through all gears! Oil used will be waste oil from my waste oil tank at the shop! Don't change oil for 30,000 miles. REPEAT!

I think theres two school of thought when it comes to breaking in the engine, you take it easy but use a lot of engine break or you drive it hard as ****. Either way im taking bets on how long his engine will last.
