What have you done to your MS3 today?

Smoked my fogs today.

Haha did you comment on it last time too? It is though! It's had the worst life a car ever could. It has seen more miles at full throttle than my MS3 has miles total!

lol, just more reason to beat the s*** out of her. You should see the way me and my friends drive my sisters mazda 6i... shes in college, and my dad's name is on the title, so he has to pay all the repairs and stuff. That thing sees like 6k rpms off every stoplight when she is home for breaks/weekends...haha

Got the car back with the scratches dealt with the best the shop could. I'll take pics when I wipe off the tiny bit of road grime.

This is true, but there's a catch. The purpose of a colder plug is to prevent knock, detonation, and preiginition in a car running hotter than stock. This typically means more aggressive timing and higher boost. However, a daily driver doesn't spend nearly enough time in these conditions. Driving around in traffic, colder plugs will foul as mine did since they didn't see 18psi often enough, causing more KR.

I may switch back once autox season starts since I will see high boost quite often. But stock heatrange is fine. My tune pushes peak torque out to 4k instead of 2600, which is what's really saving me from bending rods.

Plenty of people run step colder though and see no issues at all.... Perhaps you got a bad batch? One step colder wouldn't be that huge off an issue but I could be completely wrong.... Some people even run two steps colder!

Sorry to tread on your post, but I'm stock (soon to be bolted) looking to go with ITV22/one step colder. Do you know what I should be gapped at? I've read .28 but unsure.

How did they deal with the scratches? I have a few (self-inflicted and from my vinyl installer). I need to deal with this as well?

Cobb AP manual says 0.028.

They just used touch up paint but had a professional do it so it looks nice. The side of the car and rear scratches (scuffs on back) cost about 40$.

I put 10,000 miles on my first set of Denso step colder. Changed them out when I went fmic. They looked great but I replaced them anyway. I hit 17-18 psi daily. I like to take the long way home every day which involves a couple of on ramps. If there is any other fast car around me I'll hit 19-20 psi. Gotta show off the little Cosmic Monster.

i wish. if you find any decent stretch of road in NYC with no traffic, potholes or cops lemme know. my speed sits in the driveway 5 days a week since i take the subway to work :(

That would kill me. I'm going to make a run to Wal Mart in a minute for my wife and I'll turn a 3 mile round trip into a 12 miler and make a run on the parkway. Very little traffic on the parkway. I could not live in a big city, I'm a small town guy. I would live in the middle of nowhere if I did not have to work. Commuting must suck, I live 2.5 miles from work and can be there in 5 minutes with only one stop light and it's always in my favor at 5:15 AM. ZOOM ZOOM BABY.

Re-did the vinyl on my tails. Came out better than the first time (which peeled/lifted bad). Hopefully they cure and stay on this time.

We'll see how they hold up. I'm just waiting for them to peel/come up.

daaamn, you're s*** is looking so stealth!

Thank you sir! It's getting there. If the vinyl doesn't hold I may give up on the whole "murder" of the car and keep the tails stock. It's a constant struggle with these. Nightshade/Paint is an option but I haven't honed my skills with it just yet. Not enough to justify ruining a pair of 500$ tails.

would love to see some shots of the whole car to get a better idea of how things are fitting together.
