What have you done to your MS3 today?

autozone has the brush clearcoat. I noticed my first ding today at the bottom of the drivers side rear wheel well. It looks like a door creased it. Its not that noticable because of the location but it still sucks. I have no idea how it happened, I guess it could have been a rock, because I park far away from other cars.

Hid

Installed HID's just before christmas.

Only things left:
1. HID's on fogs
2. OEM rear spoiler
3. Bigger Exhaust tip

Indeed they might, but the one I went to didn't have any on that day. I got a small spray can, and some sandpaper. Sanded it down a little (some of the deeper gouges are still there, but I didn't want to take off too much wheel), and sprayed the clearcoat onto some cotton balls to apply. It turned out pretty good. From a couple of feet away, even I have trouble seeing the damage, and I know it is there.

bbrich: I know you are going to hit me with TTIWWP. I promise to get some up this weekend. It's all washed and waxed, and we are supposed to have some sunny weather, so it won't get trashed on my drive back to VA.

Happy New Year to all.

washed, waxed, took pictures with a nikon d70 camera, then made a 24x36 poster for my room. The pictures came out sweet and the poster looks like something you would see hanging at the mazda dealership... im working on resizing the pictures, then ill be posting them sometime this week

Took my 3i into the dealership to get a transmission leak fixed and found out that i NEED a brand new transmission. Car has 11K miles on it, covered under warranty but it was a hassle to get the rental car since i'm not 21 yet. They showed me this pinhole leak that even i couldn't make out. If you remove the airbox it is on the tranny housing itself. Not my fault but still pissed that i am without my car for a week and a half!

P.S.

Get to rent the new 07 Mazda 6, not bad, i noticed that the steering is more responsive. I wish i had the 5 speed AT instead of the 4 Speed, so much more fun to drive! and not such a noticeable dead spot at 2K - 4K

I didn't drive my MS3 today, but because of it I accidentally tried to shift in to 6th gear in my CRX...

(smash)

Installed auxmod in my car today. Satellite radio never sounded better. Haven't plugged in the ipod yet, but I'm sure it will sound better than using an FM modulator.

washed her again, including armorall leather care (which works REALLY well!), then installed my XM radio. Hidden in the center console and wired with the antenna out the back hatch, so far so good!

My car is damaged at the port!

I just got a call from my dealer. My MS3 which was supposed to be delivered this week has been "damaged at the port". (pissed) He said it is repairable and will take a couple of weeks to fix. I asked him what the damage was and he said he will find out for me. He offered to swap it for a silver one, but I have my heart set on the blue GT and he isn't going to get another one of them anytime soon. I'm waiting on his answer to decide what to do next, but I am fuming because I WANT MY NEW CAR!

I installed a Garmin C330 GPS unit. Took 30 seconds! haha.

I've been using the crap out of my GPS since I moved here. So much so that I am going install it better than the "throw-it-on-the-dash" friction mount.

I finally took some pictures. The first is just the car. From what I have seen here, some of you may not know how they look dirty.

The picture below is my solution to the TWM shifter/knob install. The four washers and adjustable height knob they sent just didn't seem to be working together like I wanted. Even with all four washers stacked on the e-clip, there was still a gap between the bottom of the knob and the boot, when the knob bottomed on its threads. I used one of the stock rubber bushings (minus the metal insert) sandwiched between two of the washers to raise the boot flush to the bottom of the knob. The bushing also squishes enough that the TWM logo on the knob can be oriented properly.

This last picture shows I am a whimp. The center console is hard plastic. I discovered on my first trip from OH to VA that I rested my leg against the console, and after a while it really effing bothered me. After a little trial and error, I stumbled on Staples gel wrist rests. They cost $1.50+tax each, and I super-glued two at the contact point. I only glued the bottom half, so I can still remove the console if necessary.

I did something similar on my console. After my first autocross, I went to Walmart and bought some industrial strength velcro and a cheap black seat belt pad. I velcroed that to about the same place you did yours. Still there and gives me a little padding in an area that my leg always hits.

All Right, Jack!! Good job.....
Some creative (good) solutions there too. I find my knee/leg resting there too, and though it doesn't really bother me, I just may steal your idea.
How 'bout that! Me stealing from you.... (lol) Maybe you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, huh?

From here on out, I am going to have to get creative (read "low-budget") on any and all mods. I'm buying a house in Northern Virginia. The prices are outrageous!!

Feel free to use the pad thing, and pass it on. I would consider it a compliment.

Houses in NOVA are crazy. The shoe box sized house next to mine went for 320k. 1500sqft with a single car garage. My house is only slightly bigger than a shoe box. :)
